Vaping pure VG

Hi

I have bought pure gycerin (from a lab, it says 99.5 % pure), and have poured it into the tank, and am trying to smoke it.

I am judging success by the amount of steam that I exhale.

My Thorvap MARS device has 4 "modes" and uses a 0.2R coil.

1) Power in watts from 7.0W to 80W
2) Temp Ni (nickel) in C/F from 100 C to 315 C
3) Temp Ti (titanium) - as above
4) Temp SS 316 - as above

The only mode I have got it to work reliably and to produce thick clouds, is the Power mode and at around 20W-30W. I have not dared go higher.

Could someone please tell me what the other modes are?

The other modes are for different wire types. Titanium and nickel wires can only be used in Temp. Control mode. Stainless steel can be used in either TC mode or power mode.

The other modes on the mod refers to the type of wire in the coils you are using. So you need to tell us what type of tank you are using first.

The mod itself is just the power source than enables the toppers to work.

And are you just vaping vg? No nic, no pg and no flavor?

What is the reasoning behind this decision? Are/were you a smoker of cigarettes?

It says "0.2 ohm organic cotton coil" - not what it's made out of.

I have tried 35W and made even thicker cloud. The glycerin has a subtle sweet taste. Almost no kick at all.

Currently it is just glycerin, nothing else. Once I learn how it all works, I am planning to add some flavours, but am not interested in nicotine at all.

In terms of what we inhale (and exhale) I blew the thickest cloud I could make onto a clean mirror from very close up to see if it would leave any trace behind and it did not. Try that with cigarette smoke and you can see visible tar left behind. I presume that it is just steam then ?

Presumed incorrectly. Steam is water vapor. You created VG vapor.

Knowing what type of tank you bought helps us to determine what type of coil you are using. Not necessarily what is written on the tank itself.
Some tanks include stock coils which are using consisting of kanthal and maybe some nickel coils and some even have a titanium coil. But the most common is kanthal which is used only in watt/power mode.

My next step will be to try to extract essential oils from plants and see if I can mix it all up with beneficial effect and without becoming disgusting.

First plant I want to try is oregano. I have loads of very good quality and it is dried. I was thinking of immersing it in alcohol maybe that will pull out the essential oils?

vaping "oils" isnt something to be considered lightly... essential oils are not easily adsorbed well in the lungs and can lead to issues. For example, cinnamon oil was one that caused several issues when vaped.

Maybe u should start slowly with premade liquids. Experiment with other setups also. After getting some knowledge about liquids and extractions u can try building ur own liquids with premade aromas. As Bunnykiller said
