Hiya everyone, got a slightly newbie question for you all. I'm used to ego type bats with no vv, however, I have just acquired an itaste v3.0 and to be honest I'm in over my head.

I am ideally looking to vape for flavour, not clouds of fog (if anything I'd like them as small as possible) so could someone please explain how I would achieve this? I have watched numerous YouTube vids but just don't understand variable wattage and voltage and have no idea how I can use this to my advantage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using ce4s 2.1 ohm currently but have some iclear 16s too.

Thanks everyone

The only thing I can recommend for you is to try your juice at different voltages. You will reach a point where it tastes burnt; that's too high. Everybody has their own "sweet spot" with their device and juices.

Clouds will also depend heavily on the mixture of your juice. Heavy VG generally means bigger clouds; higher PG less clouds, but, IMHO, less taste. Again, everyone's taste is different.

With a coil at 2.1 I would think that about 4.4 volts would be the highest...

Good luck and hope you find what works best for you!

Do you rebuild coils? If you do, try a diamond coil... I had one running in my dripper for a while, the taste was amazing (Best I've got from a dual coil ever) but the vapor wasn't quite there. Sounds like it'd be perfect for your situation.

Also, less airflow generally equals smaller clouds and bigger flavor as well... So try to find something with restrictive airflow.

As far as stock attys come that give good flavor... Try a cartomizer, or a carto-tank... I've heard (never used one personally) that the flavor off those are top notch, and rival even rebuildables.

I don't build coils no. Have tried the tips mentioned and they do seem to work. Anyone got an idea on variable wattage and how that works? Still in the dark on that one. :-(

VV and VW do Similar Things. They let you Adjust the Hit to your Taste.

There Isn't and Magic to it.

VW Measures the Resistance (Ohms) of the Atomizer Coil and then Adjusts the Voltage to match the Watts you have your APV set to.

In VV mode, you Adjust the Voltage yourself. And the Watts are a Factor of your Voltage.

Watts = (Voltage x Voltage) / Ohms

And Watts is a Measure of Power. More Watts = More Power.

Either in VV or in VW Mode, start at the Lowest Setting (The Smallest Number) and take a Few Hits. Note how it Tastes. Now Move UP one increment. Note Taste, Repeat.

You will know when to Stop. Because the Taste will become Harsh or Taste Burnt.

VG makes more vapor than PG, so one way to minimize vapor production is to use the most PG you can in your juices. PG also gives you more flavor. I think 80% PG is done by a lot of suppliers and you might be able to get higher too. If you make your own you can mix up whatever you want.

Keeping the volts or watts low will also lower vapor production, but that will also lower flavor.

Get pure PG liquids that will give you small clouds.. And then go low voltage/wattage to reduce them even more...

When it comes to flavor its pretty hard, some juices justdo taste better when vaped at a higher wattage... Banana nut bread for example... The nutty cake only comes out strong when the liquid gets vaporized really fast at a higher temp than normal... So you gotta find a sweet spot for flavor and "clouds" you can live with
