First let me say thanks to everyone in ECF! You guys rock! :) This has to be the most informative forum on the globe for e-cig information.

I smoked for twenty years trying countless times to quit. I was finally able to stop smoking by chewing nico-gum, but everytime I'd lower my dose, I'd get the cravings and a lot of the problems that most get when quitting cigarettes. After almost 2 years of chewing and the occasional cigarette I finally got fed up. After asking around a relative told me about e-cigs. I decided to give it a spin and I am so glad I did.

I started out making my own liquid thanks to the help of my vaping relative. All the choices of flavors amazed me. Not once did I consider smoking a tobacco flavor due to all the other choices available. I've been vaping for about two months now with no interest in smoking cigs ever again. My urge to smoke a "nail" had dropped to zero... until today.

A friend gave me some tobacco flavored juice that he had extra for me to try. I wasn't really interested in them, but didn't want to be rude. Once home I put some in a carto and gave it a spin. They weren't bad for the most part, but as I mentioned, not a taste I liked much anymore. I removed the carto and went back to my regular DIY mix of peppermint and black cherry.

As the day went by, I found myself thinking more about cigarettes and craving them in a way I hadn't at all experienced since I first started vaping. Today I've vaped almost three times the amount that I'd normally vape.

Have any of you experienced this? Should we really be vaping something so close to the actual cigs? Thoughts?

I actually like the tobacco flavors. There aren't any that can duplicate the burning of tobacco though, so they aren't really close to actual cigarettes. It is just a flavor like any other, and one I enjoy.

It might just all be in your mind, which we know is a powerful thing! If it makes you feel a craving, stay away. For me, it is just fine as vaping tobacco flavors is so much better than the flavor of burning the real thing.

Good luck staying off the cigarettes!

Been vaping for a year and still prefer fruit/drink flavors. I DIY all my juices and my "tobaccos" taste nothing like analogs, more like a hint of pipe tobacco burried in caramel or honey. I cant think of a reason to try to replicate something I spent so long to get away from. Vape what you enjoy and feel comfortable with.

If you have that strong of a craving for a cigarette, then have one. With vaping you don't have to have "will power." The last cigarette you will ever smoke will be so absolutely repulsive that you will be cured forever. The beauty of vaping is that you don't have to "suffer" through the process of becoming cigarette free. There is no moral stain if you smoke a cigarette. You are not "weak" because you succumb to the cravings. There's no one judging you, or, is there and who would that be? When you force yourself to abstain from something that you think will give you pleasure, then you're unnecessarily making it harder on yourself. I guarantee you will smoke that cigarette and continue vaping and that doesn't mean you have to start anything from scratch. You're already a vaper, so what's the problem? :vapor:

Thanks for the replies!. They give me plenty of "food for thought". I think I was just very surprised by the craving which I hadn't felt at such a high intensity for so long. I feel much better today; not craving a "nail" like yesterday :) Funny how different we all are. Something that affects me so much doesn't even phase the next... :)

when I started vaping everything and everyone said I would eventually gravitate towards fruits and pastry flavours etc..I ordered some fruity flavours and tobacco flavours..I really really enjoy the tobacco flavours even though they don't taste much like tobacco..it's close enough and I think I am stuck just vaping them because they work for me..I will try other things once and awhile but so far I really enjoy the taste and feel of the tobacco's..

I stayed away from tobacco flavors when I started vaping and quit cigs back in August. I mostly vape fruity/menthol flavors. I now have two tobacco type liquids I am trying out. I have Rawr's Old Man's Pipe, which to me does not taste like a tobacco at all, it is more of a hazelnut savory sweet flavor. I just got my first order of Boba's Bounty today from AVE, and it tastes like a analog cigarette to me. I may be having flash backs, or cravings of an actual cigarette, but this seems so much like the real thing, except it has a smooth flavor and does not dry my mouth out instantly like a cigarette used to. I am little worried about having a cigarette craving due to this e liqiid. If it does that, I will give it to a couple friends who are just getting off tobacco to see if it would help them transition.
