Vaping worked great - until I stopped!

Hi All,

It has been ages since I last posted. As a testimony to how effective vaping is, I managed to quit for 6 months without a need for even a single cigarette. As even more of a testimony, when I ran out of juice and didn't bother to replenish my supply (from NZ it can be a royal pain in the .... to have to order from overseas), I went straight back to smoking.

It has become clear how dependent i am on nicotine and how easy it is to go back to the stinky sticks. I hate the smell of smoke on my fingers, breath and clothes, but the addiction is so strong that you just put up with it.

I have come to the realization, after weeks of trying to use that stupid nicotine gum, that I will need to reorder a supply of nic juice and cartos to get this back under control.

I think one reason gum doesn't work (among many other reasons) is that it only comes in one flavor - mint. Wouldn't it be nice if you could get different flavors of gum like you can with the nic juice?

Cheers,
Kiwivaper

I always thought the reason they called it "mint" was that "Tile Grout" wasn't very appealing.

And ...

Nicotine is just part of smoking. Vaping mimics the entire smoking experience. I don't say I quit smoking ... I just learned how to smoke properly ... without the smoke.

Thanks for sharing your experience Kiwivaper. At least you know that going back to vaping will get you off of the stinkies. So that's a good thing, right? :vapor:

Now about the difficulty of getting supplies. Have you considered DIY juices? Seems like it may be a good option under the circumstances...if it appeals to you. Or at least keep some PG, VG and nic on hand, along with a couple of flavorings that you like, so that you could make do until your favorite juice is shipped.

Here's a thought. It sounds like NZ needs a good ecig reseller of juices and hardware. Need a part time job?

Since I'm at almost 5 months off of stinkies, I've been thinking about weaning off of vaping. My plan is to keep reducing the strength of the nic until it's at zero. Then see if I'm able to walk away from it. I'm mostly at 0 to 6mg now but there are times that I need 10 or 12 to feel right. So I'm a ways away from total zero right now.

What mg of nic were you vaping, if you don't mind me asking?
