Any updates? I've been silently following this thread.

I second the notion that honey Peary and Hobbes share some similar ingredients.

There is that honey Peary "bite", best I can describe it. But the bite is less in Hobbes. When u crack open a honey peary bottle its that zip that hits u in the face. you can smell it in TFA hdew and pear but it isnt strong enough after dilution. I've been trying to crack this biteyness..? And coming up short. *note that HP has pretty substantial green tint = he's using some extraction?

TFA watermelon and FW jolly rancher are close but no cigar. The smell reminds me of straight up Ethyl Butyrate. Which I've tried... At max recommended level of 1400 ppm - still not right.

I have two major hurdles with VC's juices. Keep in mind I always purchase max VG.

1. Cleanliness. That familiar VG sweetness that sort of darkens everything is not there. The taste is clear and clean. But the juice remains thick and by the website must have at least 71VG/29PG. How? If I dilute VG this far it is not as thick as VC. If I dilute 80VG/20PG it is still slightly more vicious. How is he removing that dark VG flavor? I cannot do this without diluting the VG far below my ideal viscosity. Gaaaagh! :)

2. Flavor strength. Never fades. A boat load of citric or malic acid in there maybe? I don't know. Every fruit juice I make fades substantially. I have two bottles of HP and a bottle of HB that are well over two months old. Both still smack me in the face when I open the dropper.

Thoughts/updates anyone?

PS - I haven't tried cucumber.

there is a trace of pear and more then 1 watermelon mixed together to make his own watermelon ( a ripe, a sweet, and a natural), don't ask how I know, also 1/2% of coconut is the percentage used. it is the mixing of more then 1 watermelon from different flavor providers that is throwing you guys off. You are close maybe that bit of info will help. baby step it find the watermelon mix first then worry about the rest. ;)

Any luck furthering this flavor - mix?

My tastes have changed enough that I am not actively pursuing Hobbes Blood anymore, but from what we know, or have made educated guesses about, I'd recommend starting with these flavors:

Flavorwest Watermelon (The Sweet)
TFA Watermelon (the Ripe, May be FA Watermelon)
Silver Cloud Estates Watermelon (the Natural, may be FA Watermelon)
TFA Strawberry (not Ripe)
TFA Coconut Extra/Candy - 0.5%
TFA Pear - <.5%

Missing 3 flavors as Total ingredients should be 9
Total percentage not to exceed 20%
No sweetener, no Capella, no Loranne.

Note: The Capella/Loranne comments by the Chef was in regards to Honey Pearry, so it is possible he was speaking specifically about that juice and not generally. Someone in this thread noted he has Capella bottles on his shelf. That said, Hobbes Blood and Honey Pearry came out at the same time and probably share flavoring manufacturers, with Capella being added later with his flavor line expansion.
