I started using rda's, not to increase vapor production, as far as that goes I was pretty happy with dropping out of the ego atomizer. I use them because I got tired of buying a new atomizer every week.
but what I am noticing is that in order to get the same level of hit off my rda,I need a significantly higher power than the ego provided. And I use much more liquid than I used to.
I am currently building at around 1 ohm, with 26 gauge write. I'd prefer 28, but that's what I have. I plan on getting more write on the upcoming week.
I wonder, is the problem that the wire is too thick? I dread to buy 32 ga, cause its so small I have a hard time making a good coil with it, it seems to lose shape as soon as I pull my bit out of it.
also thought about resistance being so low but that leads me back to 32 ga wire, since I don't think I can .... a 20 wrap coil , and it would take forever to actually heat up.
my main atry is a tugboat clone, which has pretty small air holes, maybe 1mm each x2, so I don't think that could be a problem.
I know higher pg will give more th, but last time o tried a50/50 like I used on my ego,, it about killed me.
I think I'm gonna try and build at 1.8 ohm, with a 32 ga wire.I may plug up one of the air holes as well.
idk, but I really hope I can figure it out. It's pretty unfortunate that the cheapy ego was more satisfying than the fancy mod I have

If you dread 32 and already know you don't like it why not get 28 or 30? What mod and dripper are you using? If its the ego battery then yes 32 or 30 would probably be best. This will also be closer to the clearomizer experience.

Wire is cheap. and theses gauges even more so.
Go to Temco, or Lightning Vapes, pick up a smallish spool of 28, 30, and 32. That way you can find the one you prefer.

I think 30 is what your looking for. Easier to work with then 32, but does not sizzle as long as the 28. As others mentioned, you can even get odd gauges to further adjust it to your likeing.

The brief sizzle of 28 is nothing to really worry about functionally. Especially on your Tugboat RDA.

I have no experience with the Tugboat or those Joye atomizers specifically, but there are RDAs that are best for using mouth to lung, and some for direct lung pulls. The Joye things look to be mouth to lung pullers. If you find the Tugboat airflow to be to loose or free flowing, there are ones that are adjustable. The Origen RDAs are top tier mouth to lung RDAs.
