I get the best flavor, vapor quality and throat hit from a fresh wick and very clean coil. I rewick and gently dry burn about twice a week and build a new coil every few weeks or a month. I do all that in an SV rda clone which seems to be so good at flavor I use hardly any flavoring at all, like 1.5%.
I like the "gentle dry burn" quote. I also believe in that, not that it has any affect on this subject, but it is good practice

Interesting.

I've heard of theories that the size of the air feed compared to the chamber and chimney size that makes the outstanding MTL tanks work as well as they do.

Some speculate on the air speed and where the air is restricted makes a difference.

Whatever the real story is, there are plenty of tanks that the AFC can be shut down to provide a KF or Nautilus "draw" but can't measure up to ether when it comes to the vape they produce.

Nifty puzzle.
Yes I also have heard of chamber size as a culprit, some say reduced chamber size gives for a more flavorful vape and such. These variables are so hard to pin point and really hard to distinguish, but do have some merit.

I just figured I have acquired a taste for tanks that have a longer and thinner chimney, I just bought a pico rta which barely has a top to the chimney and after 2 days I'm going to sell. To me the vapor is too warm and the TH seems spread out. I honestly feel that the longer type chimneys cool the vape slightly and directs the TH more intensely and because I'm so dialed into that particular vape, I cannot do drippers.
