Anyone else having this problem?

I purchased an official Vapor King battery and tried to charge it with one of the universal chargers that you push the battery in. It took some trial and error to get it to make a connection (i have read the threads about this issue) and it immediately lit up the red/blue leds like it was almost done charging and about 30 mins later (estimated) the light turned solid blue to indicate it was charged. This of course was not the case as I only got about 15 mins of vaping before the dreaded blinking led told me the battery was dead. I tried charging it again...same issue, but this time I unplugged the charger and replugged it and the red/blue light came on again for another 30 or so mins. After repeating this process for 3-4 times the led actually turned solid red for a while, then red/blue....etc. It took about 6 times of this charge, unplug, replug process to get the battery to a point that the charger would only display the blue led after replugging it. Now...with this battery "fully" charged I was able to use it for about 90 mins (cumulative during the course of an 8 hour work day) before it died as I would leave work. This is a far cry from the amount of use I would get from my first kr808d1 battery that I bought from CigEasy. I was able to use it on a normal work day from 6am til 9pm at night before it would need a charge. I contacted V4L about this issue and they assured me that it was a charger issue and not the battery.

So assuming charger issue, I ordered a V4L USB charger (screw in) and a generic black battery for a backup as my CigEasy battery clogged up and I accidentally destroyed it trying to clean it (long story ). Well...thank you USPS...my package arrived looking like someone ran over it with a forklift and the charger was missing and the battery smashed as were the bonus items. So I called V4L and they promptly reshipped my order....this time just first class, but at least I got it without incurring any additional shipping charges. Well...the charger is the one I ordered, but the battery is a Vapor King, not the generic that I ordered. To make a long story short...I now have 2 Vapor King batteries that will not charge correctly with my new or old charger without unplugging and replugging them numerous times and do not last as long as a generic battery that I acquired from another source.

So what is the deal with these so called "name brand" batteries? My generic battery will charge completely with either charger without any of my assistance and lasts all day long like my CigEasy battery did.

Can anyone help me? I was wanting to post this into the V4L subforum, but as I am a new ECF registered user and have not posted before I am restricted to posting here.

I appreciate any ideas that anyone may have. I am really regretting my purchase of "The Original Vapor King" battery and now thanks to the post office mixup I now have 2 ......ed batteries that need special attention just to charge and it doesn't even pay off because they won't last as long as the cheaper batteries.

Thanks,

I have 2 Vapor King XL batteries that I've been using solidly for about 2 weeks without any problems whatsoever. I bought the screw-in/USB charger with them and that's all I've used.
The blue light blinks 4-5 times on the battery when I first plug it in and the LED on the charger turns red. When it turns green they're ready to go.

Is your charger that you are having trouble with the kind that plugs in to a USB port? I had trouble with mine (even exchanged it for a new one that ended up doing the same thing) until I finally figured out that the two USB ports I was using (one on my computer and one a wall adapter) were the problem. Once I plugged it into the USB port on my PlayStation3 it charged just fine.

I kind of feel silly using my PS3 as a battery charger, but you gotta do what you gotta do! :)

Wow...i guess I should have checked back here sooner. I have tried multiple locations for charging these "name brand" batteries. Every time it is the same. It is really annoying. I have just resigned myself to constantly replugging the charger until it stays green. Since I have multiple batteries I usually charge the generic one up and use it for the greater part of the day and finish up with one of the "name brand" ones until I get home to my PT.

I have a PS3 too! Haven't thought about using that...maybe I'll give it a whirl. Seems like a pretty expensive charger solution tho and the darn thing has to be on to power its USB ports. What games do you play on it? :)

Personally I wouldn't risk blowing my computer using it's usb port to charge a battery. They aren't designed to draw draw more than 500 milliamps. Although some computers will do it. go to walmart and buy a 2 amp wall adapter. Ironically it may be that the VL4 isn't sharing because it is a better battery than your generic because it is trying to draw more power that you computer port can handle. But that's just speculation.

I have XLVL4 s and have had some problems where one of them didn't charge because of a sticky button. Or maybe I just didn't screw it in tight enough. But I did have to play with the button for a while to get it to work.

BTW if any of you have the XL try the Royal Smokers E2r4 2.5 ohm cartomizer with it. Great smoke, taste and a good hit. Haven't used anything else since. I wouldn't recommend it with a smaller battery because it will draw more power.
