I got my first shipment of VaporKing Cartomizers today (3 days to my door), and am thoroughly impressed!

I was less than stoked with the carts that cam with my cigeasy kit, or the DIY cartoz i got to go with it. I also wanted some other colors, to help me keep track of different flavors.

I got the orange 555 cart's, and the white marlboro (or whatever he calls them) cart's. im using the 555 now, and lovin it!

To sum up...

Thanks!

I finally burned out one of my 36mg carts from Vaporkings, and figured I'd take it apart to see how they're constructed inside. I found out what failed, the atomizer wire had broken off at the edge of the solder joint to the center electrode. Maybe I broke it from trying to re-center the tube like everybody says to do. I'm not to concerned, since I refilled the cart like 4 times before it failed.

What concerns me VERY much is this:

DOES THE SOLDER USED FOR THE ATTY WIRE CONNECTION CONTAIN LEAD?

If it does, I'm quitting this and going back to analogs, or cold turkey. I get enough heavy metals in my system from working on cars every day.

The Alibaba.com bulk import profiles say that the KR808D-1 also has FDA approval, along with those certifications you listed above, which leads me to doubt the legitimacy of any of the claimed certifications (Smoking Everywhere VS FDA).

Mind you, I'm not trying to troll or anything, I really enjoy my new PV, and I'm down to one analog a day from 10 a day before vaping. I just want to make sure that I am completely informed of any risks that I take by smoking a e-cig. I realize that it is most probably much safer than analogs, even the all natural or organically grown variety. My main concerns are the atty solder material, burnt batting chemicals when carts are accidentally puffed dry, and if there is any hexavalent chromium released from the hot Nichrome atty wire or not. I realize hexavalent chromium is in analog cigarette smoke, but it can also be released in the oxidation of chromium alloys like nichrome and stainless steel.

I'd prefer to have cartomizers packed with cotton batting, but after looking at the internal construction, it is impossible to replace it all because of the wire being intertwined with the inner tube and batting.

The more transparency there is behind the construction of these devices and the e-liquid, the less reason there will be for the FDA to attack them.

I enjoy and am addicted to smoking, but am at a point where I cannot physically endure cigarette smoke after 12 years of smoking. The e-cigarette is great, I enjoy it more than real smokes now because it's not disgusting. I just need to know the facts before I probably spend years doing this to separate myself from analogs for good.:)

Burn,

I understand your concerns.

If you will check out Shenzhen Kanger, the actual maaker of the KR808D-1, you will see that they don't make the FDA approval claim like the trading companies (who generally aren't even factories, just resellers acting like factories) do.

As we tell everyone, do your research and make the decision for yourself. If I talk to someone and there is the least bit of doubt in their mind I will turn the sale down.

I think the current devices are a stepping stone to whats in the future. I really don't think China expected them to become so popular.

Thanks
Rob

Thanks Rob, I checked out Kanger's website and they have scanned images of their official CE and RoHS certs. That reassures me that they're %100 legit.

If e-cigs get through the current political turmoil, perhaps the next generation should be a ceramic-coated atty wire in a US made KR cartomizer filled with sterile cotton batting. The price may go up, but they exceed their disposable life cycle anyways, so it would be worth it. This would be a great niche market for VaporKings or any other vender who can line up some improved cartos with USA e-liquid for paranoid folks like me.:D

What I'm vaping on right now can't be worse than burning 10 Winstons each day anyways, I'm getting my breath and energy back after only two weeks!

I'll definitely be back for more cartos in the future, these definitely do the trick to make me forget about the analogs!
