So I have a Prodigy V2, which I absolutely adore by the way, but I was thinking it might be cool to have something more "portable". The Prodigy is very bulky, with the atty in it, it's very long. I usually stick it in my vest pocket, but the tips tend to come off, it gets caught on things, etc. etc.

So I was looking at the Vapor King. It comes with a nice little carrying case I think looks awesome, but I have some things I want cleared up before I even think about picking one up.

So first, I noticed on their site they only sell cartridges. What addy do they use, and can I pick them up without carts? Can I get my addys and carts elsewhere or do they have their own thing going? Are their carts refillable? Because I'd hate to throw away a perfectly good addy just because it ran out of juice. I'm a big dripping fan. I like the DIY way. This isn't a deal breaking point, however, just want to know what I'd be getting into.

Also, I noticed that they have different sized batteries. Do they put out different voltages or are they simply longer lasting?

Will I be getting as good of a vape as my Prodigy? BluCigs are miles behind in my opinion based on vapor production, and throat hit. If they're even slightly better than a blucig, I might still be into it, but if I knew they were close to a Prodigy experience, I would be much more likely to pick one up.

Finally, I was wondering which kit you guys think I should pick up? I probably wouldn't use a USB passthrough, but do you guys think the various chargers are worth it? The travel kit seems to have everything you would need except maybe a case for carts, or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help guys!
~PrincessWilly

P.S. What color is the darned light? Doesn't matter, I'm just curious! xD

*Edit* I think I just answered one of my own questions. The travel case seems to hold a battery and two addys. Is this correct?

They use cartos which is the cart and atomizer combined, but you can order them from anyone who sells 808 products. They vapor production isn't to bad but i dont have a prodigy to compare it to. The color the the led varies which is the only thing i really hate about them. I would get the a pcc kit, gives you a portable charger, battery or 2 depending on which you choose and 5 cartos. You could also find them from other suppliers under different names, not really much difference from a generic 808.

I don't know, I guess I could try a cart again. Like I said that wasn't a selling point. Thanks for the suggestion on the PCC kit, that was what I was looking at, just wanted some confirmation. Everything else seems like a "kitchen sink" deal. Is the difference between the shorty and the mini battery life? I can't imagine I'd be smoking that much before getting to a charger, but good to be informed.

I have the Vapor King manuals and I think they are great. I'm sure the Prodigy has a few advantages, but you did say you want portability, so I think the Vapor King is the way to go. I admit, I'm relatively new to the vaping scene, but I have definitely done some research. As far as the two piece ecigs go, Vapor King are among the best. I liked the case too, but I actually found that I prefer to just bring a couple batteries in the little felt bag and just a box of five or six carts along. The two batteries easily last all day (for me at least). Vapor production is nice, not the biggest, but acceptable from what I understand in my research, and the throat hit is excellent if you like throat hit. Be careful not to overfill a cart or you will get a mouthful of juice--I've made that mistake many times already, but I'm getting better at avoiding it. I notice the juice itself has a difference in vapor production as well, at least from Vapor 4 Life it does, but anyway. . .

I would recommend you get your own juice and buy the blank PREMIUM carts. Actually, I haven't purchased the non-premiums, but if they are like some of the pre-filled carts I've received, I think they may be the plastic tipped ones, which are harder to pop open for refilling. The premiums have a rubber plug at the end that is very easy to remove, no plastic ring to take out, and you can even drip into them (which is more like keeping the filler wet, but it is still very similar to dripping). Try not to drip right on the atty, but on the filler to the sides, it helps avoid a mouthful of juice. Bigger batteries are just longer lasting. I went with the regular size and the battery life is great. I got the black color and the LED is green, but color doesn't really matter to me as far as the LED is concerned. I did see an adapter on Nhaler.com that would enable you to use a 510 on an 808d-1, but I think it's probably just a lot easier to use the carts for the 808. Oh, and make sure you get 808d-1 carts and not the d-2 version, which are different (Greensmoke and I think some Lecig models use them--I have the Greensmokes; you will definitely want the Vapor King over the Greensmokes).

I don't think you will be disappointed! I'm sure you will probably still love your prodigy, but for convenience and portability, I think you will like the Vapor Kings from Vapor4Life. Haha, I sound like I'm rep of theirs based on the couple posts of made, but it's just that those are the ones I have the most experience with. . .I'm playing with the Janty Stick V3 now, so we'll see.

I haven't seen a mini battery. I like the shorties, I using take 2 out with me and the pcc, I rarely use one up tho, but i don't vape too much while out.

Alright, I think I'll definitely give this a try. I'm glad they're refillable at least. Thanks for all the info guys, I'll post what I think after I pick one up in a couple weeks, to let you guys know what I think.

Camel: If you ever want a really fine piece for the home, I highly suggest the Prodigy. The Janty is nice (A friend of mine has one, but I don't think it's a V3), but I just love my Prodigy to bits.

I was checking those out, haha! I've already dumped a whole lot of money into the newly discovered world of vaping, so part of me says to back off a bit and stick with what I have. . .but the other part of me that says to find the ultimate tool and flavor says GO GO GO GO, and so far, that part is winning! I'm getting a couple different attys for the Janty V3, so I'm going to try those out before another device altogether. It has the standard 801 atty, but I've read that others find the Joye 302 and BE 112 better, so I'm going to try those first. However, I may end up trying the Prodigy, regardless, haha!

I hope you enjoy whatever it is you decide on! Oh, wait, which one did you officially decide on?

I'm going to try out the Vapor King PCC kit.

On the Prodigy: The cool part about the Prodigy is they sell adapters for 25 dollars, letting you enjoy an 801, 901, 510, BE112, or RN4075, all with one device. They're not exactly cheap at 25 dollars, but if you like having an atty for flavor, and one for throat hit, it's nice to have one device. I usually run an 801 because I love me a throat hit, but I occassionally slap on a 901 for some extra flavor, especially for my energy drink flavor. It's a really nice way to get the best of both worlds.

Also, lol it looks like they're out of V2's again.

The shorty kit is a good deal in the Super Sale, they have a promo going for 15% off right now too.

PrincessWilly, Here's something else to think about. If you're already usung a mod but think it's too big take a look at the Chameleon at Ikenvape. Link: The Chameleon Line
It's a nice tiny little mod that should fit comfortably in a vest pocket. I believe it's the smallest one out there and you'd still have the long battery life.
Just a suggestion.

I think your going to like your vapor king, I know I like mine, and the pcc case is great!

While you are at it snag some empty turbo cartomizers from vapor nine. They really are the best cartomizer and when they have them in stock they dont stay long , they get bought up quick.
They work great on the kr808. Better then any I have tried.

I got the ultimate kit from them, which came with the PCC. The PCC works well, but something I noticed is that I haven't needed it yet! I just make sure my two manual batteries are charged and they last all day.

Speaking of the prodigy, I was looking at what seems to be somewhat similar, the thermo, from LiteCig. It has a bunch of different adapters, including one that allows use with 808-1's! It is definitely alluring, check it out when you get a chance.

I wonder if those are the same as V4L's Premium carts. It looks like the same type design (based on the picture vapornine shows of the threads) and it mentions the soft cap, which is what I love about the premium carts from V4L. Of course, there could be some internal differences I can't see, but it doesn't seem to mention any differences.

From the reviews I have read I have heard they are better. I ordered some of the hard tips today they have them on sale for 7 bucks. What ever is different I am sure V4L will make the same change soon enough. I hope so atleast, I hate having to order from a bunch of different vendors.
