For those of you "in the know", I have a few questions and would appreciate your insight:

1. How would you describe the fire button: responsive, firm, slight, etc?

2. Is the fire button rated like other higher end APV's: 500K, 1M, 2M presses?

3. Same questions on the + & - buttons.

4. Will the charging port stand-up to daily charging and not become loose or weak?

5. What about the 510 connector? Is it a soft material that will strip over time like the Vamo or is it more substantial and handle the 2-3 times a day of changing "heads" without stripping?

6. Have they fixed the "wiggle" in the 510 connector I have read about?

7. I would probably get a J-Wrap for the case so I am not too concerned about scratches. But what about dropping it? Is it substantial enough to handle the occasional drop without cracking, etc?

I appreciate in advance anyone willing/able to answer some or all of these questions since I am considering buying this APV. At this price point, I want it to last for the long haul.

Its pos, sorry but it is I have the dna20 version. Yes they have upgraded the button but the battery in it is just plain dangerous. Its a really cheap lipo 1200 Turnigy nano-tech 1200mah 1S 15C Round Lipo.
My battery vented on me and so have many others too. Battery life is stupid low, 1200mah in a 20w device, I vaped it around 12w because any higher the battery died too fast.

510 connector on mine is broken, so is the firing button, usb charger is loose ( its hot glued) and the paint is thin and cheap it wears off just looking at it. I loved this mod when I got it around xmas, 4 months later its just trash. Ive fixed it so many times it isnt even funny.

The soldering on the board is really bad because there is so little space there is no room for solder on the other side, kind of hard to explain.

You can see on the photo that the wire is on one side and the solder on the other, vapor shark has put the solder and wires on the same side and been really careful so the solder didn't flow to the other side because there is no room for any solder, doing this the board has a lot of cold solder joints.

Shes a beauty..... maybe not.

They are cheap for a reason.

Oh forgot to mention, the 510 connection uses a rubber insulator and lasts about 2 months and then needs replacing. The threads stripped and its a custom 510 connection so good luck finding one. I think the the 510 is SS because the negative wire comes loose all the time and is a real pain to re-solder, the solder has real hard time sticking to SS.

I might sound really .... hurt but I'm really glad it finally died so I can ripped the board out and put it in new home.

My VS DNA 30 is the best vape device I purchased by far. All the complaints and weaknesses from the DNA 20 has been improved based on my research. My only "issue" is that my kayfuns and r91 has a little overhang. Vapes like a champ. Pos for those that got the pos version. There will always be a few in every mass produced device. Costumer service is awesome! You wont regret it :)

When I got mine I was over the moon, after 2 months the trouble started.
They are still using the same $2.80 1200mah lipo 15c battery that should never be used in a vape device because that battery is really unstable and easily vents if dropped, its made for rc planes and if they crash with that battery they bin it.

They are still using cheap cast zinc-aluminum alloy, paint has real hard time sticking to it.

Get something better like hana v3 or a XPV DNA-30D. Like I said the Vapor shark DNA is cheap for a reason.

Some of you people are mighty hard on mods. I've been using mine (a DNA-20) daily since right around the first of the year and it's doing just fine. The only place the paint on mine has significant wear is on the bezel around the display at the bottom and right around the 510.

I have an XPV and a Hana as well, and yes, both have some advantages, but it's really hard to beat the VS for pocketability. The Hana is excessively bulky and scratches easily. Of the three, the XPV is my favorite and I have a second one on order.

Why do you like the XPV over the VS? I would think it would not be as pocket friendly and not as comfortable in the hand.

I appreciate the responses. But if anyone can give more specificity as to the questions asked, it would be appreciated.

One I forgot to ask is vaping about 5ml a day, over a 15 hour day at 12 watts, how many hours will you get before needing to recharge? My guess would be 12 hours.

you would get about 7hours.

I didn't answer most of them in a specific way because mine is an older DNA20 unit not representative of current production. I'll just repeat what I've said; I've used mine daily since around the first of the year and haven't had any real issues with it.

I do not think it will not get you through a full day at that rate, but if you let it charge fully overnight and give it maybe an an hour of charge time at some point in the afternoon, I believe it will, at least that's my experience.

- 2900 mAh of NCR18650PF capacity (in the DNA20).
- Battery can be unplugged to reset the DNA if/when it needs it.
- It's surprisingly pocket friendly if you use the clip.
- I like the way it feels in the hand. Lower 'circumference' that the VS.
- High quality switch-gear.
- 22 and even 23mm atties (Kayfun, etc) do not look goofy on it.

What are you referring to when you say "high quality switch gear"? Also, how is the threading of the 510 connector?

The fire button, which actually is rated for some absurd number of actuation and the power Up/Down 'toggle'; both exude quality.

The threading of the 510 seems fine to me, but I'm no gorilla when it comes to threads and haven't had issues with 510 threads on any device that I own, so if you're one to cross-thread and/or over-tighten, then YMMV. :D

I'm VERY careful with not cross-threading any of my APV's. I bring it up because of the issue with the Vamo's soft 510 connector threading.

Have you seen this DNA 30 APV? It looks very nice to me. Runs about $225:

Nucleic DNA
