I am one of those people out there who usually defaults to Menthol as my primary all day vape. When I say menthol, I mean your standard, run-of-the-mill Dekang 'minty' menthol. For me, it's a reliable taste regardless of where I buy it from. It's cheap and I have never had an offensive mix. That however cannot be said for a lot of premium juices I've tried in the past; some of them running a $1/ml or more. Through checking out forums, I found Vapor Station. Their prices were good ($0.47-$0.50/ml), they had a good selection, and a sampler pack. I opted for the sampler pack with 24mg nicotine and vaped them on a 6v device. The 5ml samples come in a brown glass bottle with a dripper. Initially getting the juice out of the dropper for the first time is reminiscent of a Heinz Ketchup bottle. After that, they drip smoothly. If you like to Drip and Drive, these bottles are not for you.
Before I run down the flavors, there are a couple things that they all have in common. I verified with Eric (at Vapor Station) that they use a PG/VG blend. He said that most of their flavors are 3 parts PG, 2 parts VG. This would account for the dense vapor production as well as the smoother/buttery consistency of the vape.
So here is a small review for each of the flavors I got:
VS Texas
This is a very dry and rich tobacco. This is refreshing because most tobaccos I try have an overly sweet undertone; this does not. This reminds me of an unfiltered cigarette. Though it is strong, it has almost no after taste. I find myself vaping this between flavors to clean my pallet. I would think that this and the VS Tampa would be the best option for new Vapers out there because it really is very close to cigarette tobacco.
VS Tampa
This tobacco is feels the strongest of the ones I tried. It is slightly sweeter than the VS Texas. While it is definitely tobacco, there is another flavor that I cannot identify. I also noticed you get most of the flavor on the exhale. While it is very very good, it was my least favorite of the tobaccos I tried. That being said, it is still better than any tobaccos I have tried from other vendors.
VS4
You guessed it. This is Vapor Stations version of RY4 done right. It is very smooth tobacco with a creamy caramel undertone, however, it is not sickeningly sweet like some RY4's I have tried in the past. It is the sweetest of the Tobaccos that I tried from VS.
VS Tennessee
Definately a VS version of Flue Cured Tobacco. Smokey and sweet (though not as sweet as VS4). Very rich tobacco blend. Out of all the tobacco flavors I tried from VS, this one seems to be the one I've used the most so it must be my favorite.
VS Frisco
Ahhhh... this one hits the spot. This one, for me at least, is the perfect blend of nutty, rich, smokey, smooth. Kind of like a 555 blend done right.
VS Seattle
This is the type of menthol I have been searching for. This is the closest I have had to a true menthol cigarette taste. I still occasionally smoke from time to time if I am in a social setting and this closely mimics Camel Menthols. It has a very strong tobacco presence, and just the right amount of menthol. I've tried some premium menthol tobacco blends from other vendors and either got too little, or way too much menthol.
VS Frost
I've had methol juice that taste like Double Mint Gum. I've had stuff that taste like Halls cough drops, Listerine, and touthpaste. I've made menthol juice that is so strong it could be used in place of pepper spray. VS Frost on the other hand has a very slight sweetness, a little mint, and mostly menthol. It is very cool, smooth, and refreshing without being overbearing. If you are used to Dekang Menthol, this will be a very different experience because it is not minty. Very tasty stuff.
Rosewater
I tried a lilac a few months ago and enjoyed it; so when I saw this Rosewater, I figured I'd give it a shot. Well... Rosewater is what it says it is. It smells and tastes like roses. Sounds gross but actually tastes pretty good. The taste comes through mostly on the exhale and leaves a nice aroma. It is a 'relaxing' vape but definitely not an everyday vape (at least not for me). This does however leave a lasting taste in your atty. I ended up giving my atty a PGA bath to completely get rid of it. On a side note, it does mix well with the VS Texas.
VS Espresso
Strong coffee presents. Very creamy... and sweet. I feel like I need to chew the vapor on exhale. Both coffee flavors I sampled are incredible.
VS Sumatra
I am a coffee lover and Sumatra happens to be one of my favorite beans. This is not Sumatra. However, this is a very good cup of coffee! This is darker and dryer than the Espresso; very light on the cream and sugar. If you're a coffee junkie like me, this is the flavor for you.
Both of the coffees that I sampled have a very strong aroma, even from the time you crack the bottle open. If you vape this long enough, the room you are in will smell like a coffee house! Also, it is best not to vape this stuff while you are actually drinking coffee. Most of the flavor gets washed out because it is too close in taste.
I had a very hard time picking favorites out of the samples; especially the tobaccos. They were all great vapes and far surpassed what I was expecting. In the future, I will most likely stick with picking up sample packs from VS. If I HAD to pick two flavors out of the group, it would be the Tennessee and Seattle. I'm still carrying all 10 bottles with me to work so I have a smorgasbord of juice to choose from. If you are/were a marlboro analog smoker, I would go with the Texas. Menthol smokers would love Seattle.
