Just got my reo mini. I am using hi drain 14500 600mah lr atomizor 1.5(from nhaler). I don't seem to be getting the vapor I think I should. I was getting more vapor from my ego(900mah) with a standard 510 attie with just a cartridge. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? Have only been vaping just over 4 months now, so yes I am a newbie. So far pretty frustrated with my mini.

Yeah, I know nothing about that particular battery nor the LR atomizers sold from nhaler, so I'm afraid I can't be too much help.

If it were me, I would try a different atomizer, measure the voltages of my available batteries, and keep plugging away. The mod works when you have the right battery/atty/carto/juice combo.

It is the same attie off of my ego. Must be my technique. Should there be liquid in the well. I squeeze until I see juice coming into the well, when I let go the juice gets sucked back up in the holes, leaving a dry well.

That is correct squonking technique. Did you drip with your eGo? If so, try dripping a few drops onto the atty and see if that tastes right for you.

Also, Mudflap may be on to something. Those might be BDL's (not a good battery). nat, do you have a multimeter? It would be good if we knew what voltage the batteries were actually at.

I agree, Gil. When I flood an atty, I've noticed diminished vapor production. Blowing it out and putting it back on again fixes it right up :)

Probably a joye atty (sorry joye fans) a better atty I'll bet will to the trick. Also sometimes when new to squonking its easy to over juice the atty. Blow it out and try again.

A LR Joye produces just as much vapor as a cisco or IKV and IMO is more forgiving when it comes to over squonking :)

I suspect it's just a matter of being too wet. And probably not a very good battery.
But it might be a Boge or other crap Atty

Can be the lack of Naolox in the firing pin, did you already put some naolox or vaseline?

since i put some, greatly increased the production of vapor.

Oh no, don't ever use vaselene that will kill you conductivity :(:(:(

If it's brand new you should be fine. I'm going on 9 months without using any :)

The firing pin conducts the current through the REO. Vaseline is non-conductive. Clean it off of your firing pin and put on some noalox.

Obviously i use Vaseline because i dont have Noalox in hand, but I'm sure vaseline solved my problems of poor contact of the firing pin, which has never occurred since I put Vaseline.

As soon as I can, I wii try to buy some noalox.

Thanks REOnaut.

Natman63:

I have to jump in here. I'm on my 2nd REO, and I've finally got squonking down. I tried the "just til you see a bit of juice in the cup" method and continually flooded it.

I tried the blind squonk by "feeling a change in the air pressure" and still no joy (and still flooding it).

Finally, someone mentioned they couldn't blind squonk by "air pressure" but they could hear a "gurgle". So, for me, where I wound up was:

While drawing on the dt/mouthpiece/etc. and not firing the atty, listen for the first sound of a gurgle, BUT ALSO, if you feel a pressure change, stop. I also found I get a slight burning throat hit eventually, but that's NOT the time to re-squonk. Whenever that happens, just do a hard short dry hit and try it again. Good for a few more nice hits. When that no longer works, THEN re-squonk.

Might not work for everyone, but it's what finally got me to stop flooding it.

really good advice ancient puffer. I'm also guessing that the atty is flooded, its really easy to do there is a fine line between perfect and flooded. I'm just barely getting the hang of it after days of mostly flavorless watery gurgling squonks. You might think you haven't squonked enough when you start to get it down without flooding but just give a short test drag, if it doesn't taste like a nasty dry atty you are good to go. If you flood it just blow it out into a napkin and try again, might waste a little juice but you will get the hang of it faster.

Edit: Forgot to add - I find it helps to suck more gently when I'm hitting off my REO, this lessens the chance of juice getting pulled up and submerging the coil in case I'm on the verge of flooding it.
