Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I was hoping to get some help/advice?

I have a vaporesso Nebula 100W with a new, fully charged 26650 battery, and a smok Baby Beast tank. I set the mod to 100w and on my first fire with the new battery, the wattage immediately reduces to 80w, then every roughly half a second it decreases a further 5w each time. I thought at first that it was because I was using an 18650 with an adapter and that it wasn't enough power, but it still happens with this new battery. The firmware has been upgraded to 1.6 I think it's called. Please help!

26650's as rule have more run-time but lower amp limits due to increased internal resistance compared to an 18650. At 100 watts even a good 30 amp 18650 is going to have wicked voltage sag and very short runtimes. Jay, you are unfortunately a victim of the latest rash of manufacturers bringing devices to market that fundamentally cannot safely deliver what they promise with current battery technology.
The only 26650 I know of that has a 30 amp CDR is the IJoy but even then you want to stay under 90 watts.

Sorry, I should point out that I've had it for about 2 weeks, the coil is a very well primed v8 which can go to 110w. It has a recommended range of 60-80w where it works best, but by all means, it can handle the high wattage. I started at 70w and switched to TC which always runs at 65w, and kept it there. I went to 100w to see what it was like, because the gimmick with this mod is that it will run at 80w with an 18650, and can go to 100w with a 26650. But unfortunately, the mod immediately dropped to 70 as soon as I start firing, then very quickly to 65, then 60, and so on. I've been using 18650s and it only happened during their use when they fell to about half charge. Whereas with this battery, it was immediate. It's probable that the battery is not very good. Thanks for helping, guys!

I think you've run into the max amp limit on your mod and then as your battery fell below a certain voltage it became the limiting factor. Just because a mod says it is capable of reaching a max wattage limit it has an internal max amp limit that it will draw that in itself limits the wattage. What I find on my 75 watt Evics is that yes they will hit that high with a higher ohm coil but that's too high for that resistance coil. Lower the resistance on the coil and now the mod won't go to 75 but will drop back to 60 or less.
Of course my understanding of electrics is a bit limited so I'll stand to be corrected.

Don't use that battery at all. It's simply not suited for vaping. For 18650s, buy only authentic high drain batteries by Sony, Samsung, or LG from a trusted vendor (there are many fakes out there). 26650s are a bit trickier as they are pretty much all mislabelled rewraps. Check Mooch's recommended batteries chart in the battery subforum and choose a battery that suits your needs.
