Welcome back for another review. I’m going to do something a little different this time. I was sent the vaporesso Renovo Zero and the vaporesso Osmall to do a comparison review. I have spent about a week with these two pod devices so far and would like to share my experience with you. I’ll go through what’s included, specifications, and my thoughts on both and tell which would be my favorite.

    First Impressions:

Both units arrived in nice packaging. I noticed that the pods for both devices are clear enough that the liquid level is fairly easy to see. That is a big plus to me. I can’t tell you how many pod devices I’ve tried where I had to shine a flashlight behind them in order to see the liquid level while filling.

The Renovo Zero has a button on one side that allows the unit to be turned on and off and also is used to change the output power level. There are three different power levels available but honestly there’s not that much of a difference to me. It is noticeable but would have liked the output to be a little higher. The pod has a ccell coil and the unit uses the Omni board mini with temperature control. The power level is indicated by one of three colored lights around the button. They are red, blue, and green. Three pushes of the button changes the power level and five presses of the button will turn the unit on and off. The Zero is draw activated so it’s easy to pull out of a pocket and take a quick draw. A full charge takes approximately 45 minutes.

The Osmall is also draw activated. However, it does not have a button or different power levels. It is a more simplistic device. It’s physically a little longer than the Zero but thinner. It has a little over half the battery capacity that the Zero has. The Osmall also uses the Omni board mini. Both the Osmall and the Zero have all of the standard protections built in such as short circuit and over charge protection.

    Comparison:

The Zero is the larger and heavier of the two which makes sense since it has almost twice the battery capacity of the Osmall. The Zero is smooth to the touch while the Osmall has a nice textured feel to it which makes it easy to find in a pocket. Both units have the same board in them but the Osmall seems to have a slightly tighter draw and warmer vapor production than the Zero on the highest setting. One of the major differences in my mind is how the pods are filled. The Zero has the push to fill that I am familiar with since I use the podstick which has the same type of fill port. Honestly, it can be a real pain sometimes. There is a bottle included with the Zero that makes it a little easier to fill. One nice thing about the push to fill is that in my experience it doesn’t leak. I was impressed with the fill port on the Osmall. Rather than put it on the bottom with a rubber plug, Vaporesso put the fill port on the side of the pod which in my opinion would make it less likely to leak. It is very easy to fill. I did not experience any leaking with either unit since I started using them.

Now down to the nitty gritty. If I had to pick one of the two as a favorite then it would be the Osmall. I know it has less battery capacity but from the very first fill and draw on both units, the Osmall has produced a little warmer vapor and a noticeably better flavor production than the Zero. I know it would have to be charged more often and I could care less that it doesn’t have adjustable output. It is simple and it just works with better flavor than the Zero. To me it would be worth charging more often to get a better experience while using it. The Zero isn’t bad but the flavor just isn’t as good as the Osmall. The Osmall is also much lighter. Both devices are nice units but I was given a situation where I felt that I needed to pick a winner and I have. The Osmall.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. It is much appreciated. Below I’ll give links to the two devices so you can take a closer look if you like.

On the osmall, I didn’t get through one full pod before recharging. I didn’t count puffs. I’m not sure on the zero. The flavor wasn’t as good on the zero so I didn’t use it as much. The problem with trying to give an estimate on battery life is that everyone Vapes differently. I tended to take three puffs on the osmall before exhaling. The zero gives a little more vapor so two puffs was good on it. Also the length of puffs will affect battery life. The 350mah osmall is equivalent to a cigalike and the zero is comparable to an ego battery. I can try better to get a feel for battery life. Would you like to know how many puffs per charge?

Nice review hittman, Iv'e found on mine at half pod it's getting close to time to charge. That' my improvised battery meter.

Thank you. It’s tough to give a realistic battery life on a device like these in my opinion.
