If they are the same size as the 16340's then yes you can use them. I built the Saber Touch to use certain size and voltage batts. But, the way I designed it, it can handle up to 60v! (But don't power it with your car batteries! LOL). But really, if they fit without having to over tighten the cap, they should work. I still wouldn't use anything under (2) 3.6v batts in the 5v for the longest battery life.

18350s operate at the same voltage as 16340s. The issue is the dimensions. The desirability is that they have greater energy storage (mAh).

Has anyone tried the Eastmall 18350s? They claim to be protected. Most 18350s are not. I assume we want under/over charge, short protection pcbs in our batteries, right? I'm assuming the Saber Touch doesn't have these features on its board.

I can feel the spring is tighter but it isnt too tight , not like smashing it or anything. I just wanted to make sure they wouldnt do anything to the regulator or anything.

I had the issue earlier that I charged the batteries together and the charger thought they were charged, I got a whole hour of battery use before nothing would happen...

Do your 18350s leave some clearance in the chamber around the battery or is it completely stuffed? One would want some space for the air pressure to travel on the way to the rear vents in case of an outgassing.

Do you mean stacked in the same charger chamber? You really don't want to do this.

I'm not new to electronics or PVs but I am new to this product. I just measured my 5 volt Saber driven by two 3.7 volt IMR16340s. With no atomizer load, I'm getting a 4.45 volt reading on my VOM. Is this normal? If I should be reading 5 volts, is there an accessible trim pot?

Lots of questions!
No, the ST does not have battery short protection other than a spring that will collapse onto itself in that instance, that is why I sized it, and recommend only using protected batteries.
As far as the Voltage reading... we use a TI 5v Regulator that can only swing about .02v either way depending on that one individual regulator. So reading of 4.45v is not right. It takes a least 5.5v to have the regulator work correctly.
The ST is designed also for battery under voltage protection, not letting the batteries deplete their charge completely. This is more important on the 3.7v/6v model, since it doesn't have a regulator to stop working under 5.2v.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for explaining.

I'm afraid I didn't properly express my measurement: the 4.45 v is from the atomizer terminals, after the regulator, not from the batteries. Is this OK? Should I be measuring under load? I realize that if I ran my batteries down that low, they'd be caving in and at best, greatly shortening their life.

Using 2 of the AW Protected ICR123 3.7V 750 mAh Li-ion batts not completely fresh from charger but still reading 4.08 Volts each, I get 4.99 volts at the atty connector (no atty). I think this is what the 5V regulated device should be reading. 4.45 reading at the connector sounds too low to me but S.L. is the person to really respond with accurate reading measurements. Just thought I'd share my readings FYI.

Do u have any extra colors left over maybe u could give me a custom one. Any idea when they might ship? Thx
Your Black 5v and your Shiny 5v are going to ship out on Monday... so you will have them Wednesday or Thursday!

As far as custom colors, I usually only have a little left over, and I leave it up to the person who designed their color if they want it to be shared since it's kind of neat to claim to have a One-Of-A-Kind Saber Touch!

I think I asked this once before but...

Have you considered a 16340 sized 3.7V only device? Something that'd be about half as long as the ST is?

I really do like the smaller size of my other 3.7V mods. But I keep coming back to the ST because of that consistent 5V vape. Pretty much as long as the batteries have enough charge to turn on the vape is the same every time. And the more I use it the more I like the non mechanical switch ;)

If only someone could make a regulated 3.7V vape. Now that would be great.

You should go back a few pages and read the thread! LOL I'm going to be coming out with a Saber Touch Mini... All of the same features and durability of the Original Saber Touch, but it's only 3" long, same width, and uses one 16340 3.7v battery. It will fit nicely in the palm of your hand!

Has anyone tried the Eastmall 18350s? They are larger then ultrafire batteries and do not fit in the ST. I tried them just to see.

Do your 18350s leave some clearance in the chamber around the battery or is it completely stuffed? They fit snug but can slide in and out easily, not much room left girth wise. The cap still goes on without force and I don't think the spring is all the way collapsed when it is closed. I would not use these regularly but last night I was in a pinch.

Do you mean stacked in the same charger chamber? You really don't want to do this. Yes I was told by another poster to not charge them together the initial charge. Now I know not to ever charge them together, lucky I bought another charger with the battery order I am waiting for. I thought I had myself covered until my previously non vaping hubby took over my other ST and my spare batteries.

hihi! Saber killer Amber here! Apparently my quirky magnetic fields and magical powers are death to the Saber. Let me say though, that dealing with Sir L. Is an absolute pleasure! Despite all the problems I've had he's been very patient with me. And I'm trying VERY hard not to be a sad panda after having to give Sparkly up. I didn't even get to vape on her long!!!

What batteries does everyone use? Where do you get yours? Is there any special way you charge them?

What Atty/cartomiser /etc do you use? And why?

Thanks! I want to make sure I take extra special care of my next baby. It may not even leave the house with me...

I have the 3.7/6v

my batts: (2x)AW LiFeP04 500mah 3.0v for 6v vapes
(2x) Tenergy RCR123A 3.0v 750mah for 6v too
(2x) AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mah for 3v

for my custom 5v I have coming in I got two sets of (I should have 2 sets madvapes sent me one of the sets but messed up my other set and sent me ultrafires instead of Trustfires.) Trustfire 16340 3.7v 880mah.

I use reg 510 attys to try new flavors. If I like them I fill up a 510 cartomizer and use a drip tip on it (better air flow and taste.). I use the 510 carto b/c it easier and less work. All you have to do is make sure to keep the filler wet. I usually top it off after 30-40 puffs.

Hope this helps. Oh I also only use my ST at home and use the KR808d-1 when I'm out and about.

Hi Bug!
You know me from Eilxir.

Here is the charger I use for both my 3V batts (for 6V vaping) and my 3.6 and 3.7 volt batts for 5V vaping. Ultrafire 3.6 volt or 3 volt RCR123 Lithium Battery Charger

For 5V vaping, I use these batts: AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery and sometimes these: AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR CR123 size LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery I like these better but the mAh is lower on these IMRs than of the (black) Li-ions.

For 6V vaping, I use these: AW LiFePO4 3 Volt Lithium Rechargeable Battery Again, lower mAh but very good batts.

That Ultrafire charger has a manual switch to change from 3.0 volt charging to 3.6. For the 3.6 and 3.7 volt batts you can use a multi charger but that is not a good idea for the 3.0 volt batts as they can overcharge.

As for attys, on 5V vaping I like 3.0 ohm and 3.3 ohm 510s and the 901 (native 3.3 ohms) and the 302 (a version of the 801 series - also native 3.3 ohm). For 6V vaping, I use 4.5 ohm 510 attys. But I am really leaning much more towards 5V these days as 6V is unregulated and much more subject to the higher voltage of overcharged batts. I just find 5V much more consistent and a nicer overall vape.

901s you can get from many vendors.

302s I find at vaperite (awesome juices too - as I am sure you have heard everyone raving about them on elixir). Litecigusa is another vendor carrying 302s.

3.0 ohm 510s are at Elixir = BE510

3.3 ohm 510 attys are at Vapor Flow (VF also has that charger for about $10 and good prices on the 3.0 volt AW lifepo4 batts) and I think you can use code ecf10 for 10% off. check with Jason on elixir, he often has some code active.

4.5 ohm HV 510 attys (and 5.2 ohm HV 510 attys) are usually at NHaler.

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me is I can help you more. :)

Happy Saturday!

Notice:

This Sale is going to end on Sunday Night.

And I may not have a sale for a very long time. I will hold contests though... they are a lot of fun for everyone!

It has been brought to my attention that some people are just buying The Saber Touch when it's on sale, and reselling them for a profit. I don't mind people making a profit, but it hurts the consumer in the long run. He or She doesn't get the 5yr Warranty on the Saber Touch when they buy from the classifieds, and usually it doesn't show up at their door in the condition it would have had they gotten the ST from Vapor Moon. I don't like people getting less than perfect quality, and end up having to pay in the long run if something does go wrong with their mod.

So, if you are Truly interested in Owning a Saber Touch, please, now is your time to get one. We have lots of ideas for the future, and do not want the quality of our products to be less than perfect. If you order from Vapor Moon, you know you will get nothing less than the best, and I do back that up with 5yrs of commitment to you as a fellow Saber Touch user, and a product I know will last a very long time.

Thank you all for your support and wonderful response to Vapor Moon and The Saber Touch.
