Any protected 16340 @ 3.7V will work. You'll need a pair of them. I'd suggest 2 sets of pairs so you always have power as the other set charges. Decent ones cost about $5-$6 a pair direct from China and take about a month shipping this time of year as little as a week during less busy times. They can be had for about $10-$12 a pair from a few places in the US. I don't know of anybody with special deals right now. madvapes.com has good prices, here's a link but there are plenty of other places to get batteries also. Don't forget a charger if these are your first batteries.

Pretty sure Sir Lawrence recommends 880 mah or higher. I have only tried the 3.7V AW 750 mah icr rcr123a (black with silver label) and the 3.7v AW IMR 550 mah 16340.

All I can say is the IMR gives me a much better hit on my preferred 302 attys. The cost is higher price and less mah but for my dollars (and vaping) I now use only AW IMR in all my mods.

As I said, I only use the AW IMRs. Ikenvape has good prices and cheap 1st class ship. Lighthound has them also but I think their ship may be higher.

But you have to realize that AW IMRs are sort of in a different direction than Sir Lawrence's - the BUILDER of the VV Saber. He knows his device and I have not yet tried the batteries he uses.

I use what are referred to as the 'flame wrapped' Trustfires because the plastic wrapper is black/red/yellow with stylized flames on the wrapper. They're 880 mah. Madvapes has them although I buy all mine from China as I was into flashlights and the assorted Lithium batteries they need before I took up vaping. IMR have less capacity at a higher price. Those are the drawbacks. Their advantage is a 'safe chemistry' which means they won't explode or start burning when over/under charged. They also provide current faster which is very useful in 3.7V vaping with LR atomizers or cartomizers.

How do the imr batteries do with the vv? I just use the silver trustfires in my vv left the setting at factory default never really checked it on the voltmeter!

Some people use those batteries and say they are great... Me, on the other hand just use regular 16340 3.7v 1000mAh batts. They've always held a charge for a long time, and I've never really thrown that many out... still charging them.
