Tonight is Boys Night at the Moon!

My wife is working all night tonight, so my son, Max (10), and I are planning a movie night!
So nice when the house is clear sometimes! LOL

Hope you guys have a Wonderful time Sir:)
Oh, and guys...
did you all see the Blue Moon this morning?
Happens only every three years!
My pics didn't turn out so good. But I hope you saw it.

I thought once in a Blue Moon was just a phrase:unsure: Guess I was wrong, too bad I missed that!!
You also might want to check fleabay. I like the tiny ones that are about the same size as a battery nipple.

Hey Tea, nice to see ya here on the Moon:)
I also carry the battery magnets!
They fit perfectly on a battery and in the Saber.

I completely forgot you carried those:facepalm:
Thank you Sir Lawrence, I will go to the site.

Hey anavid, now I see why you like the vivi Nova's, I picked up a Slim version(even after troubles before) and I am Lliking this thing now that I have one that wicks good:w00t:

Sir_Lawrence, I was so disappointed that I missed you on Elixir today. I was having sound problems on my computer and by the time I got there, you had left. I wanted to tell you that a dear friend (thanks, MissEmma :)) gifted a Saber Touch to me a few months ago. Not because she didn't like it, but because I have bad Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands and she wanted to see if the Saber Touch would be easy for me to use.

She was so RIGHT ON! I don't have to fumble to activate it and it works every time (and that's not the case with every device I have...some can be real "temperamental"). I think the design in absolutely genius. And, it would be awesome for anyone...not just feeble old ladies like myself! LOL That may not mean much coming from just one person, with one Saber Touch...but it's my favorite PV.

Thanks so much :) I hope to catch you on another show in the future. I'll check into the Forum regularly.

~ Lady ~

I love photographing the Moon, Ive experimenting with different lenses and such. For a few months Id be out there with my camera, tripod and the longest tele lens. I have come up with a few cool picts. I hope someday to get a decent telescope that I could mount my camera on to get more detail. Did you see the meteor showers a few weeks ago? They were awesome.
I didnt get enough light with my lens to get anything that sort of blurry twinkles.

I have seen a "blue moon" before and they are amazing. One year my son and I were out and about near sunset and we both saw a "blood moon" that was beautifully eerie. That was in my pre-photo days. WHo knows when that will happen again. But they do exist.

Ive seen some pretty unusual things if you take the time to just look up for a while.

Hi!

Thanks to the advice of a couple of ECF comrades in the General section of the Forum, I've decided to buy one of these lovely things. Only trouble is, I can't make up my mind between the larger one and the mini. I'm a small woman with small hands, and I think the mini's adorable, but can't seem to find the mAh rating for it.

Do any of the veteran users know the difference in battery life between the mini and the big guy? Any other important factors I should be aware of?

Thanks!

(And if I sound like an idiot here it's because this is my first mod, and I'm trying very hard to learn all about them before the end of the Vapor Moon Labor Day sale . . . yikes! my head is positively spinning!)

Hello Kropotkin, Welcome to the Moon:) I myself have the Mini and the Bigger Guy(but mines a gal:blush:) The Mini is Excellent if you don't mind swapping batts if you vape alot. I myself find that I have to swap an AW IMR 18350(700mah) in the little guy(Gal again:blush:) once if I only use the mini and I vape about 2 and a half to three ml's a day. Now the bigger 3.7/6volt would have over twice the runtime on a single battery. I use 1 AW IMR 18650(1600mah) per day. But here's the kicker(literally), with the bigger version, one can also run a Kick in it with an 18490/500:ohmy: So all in all, the whole thing would depend entirely on your vaping habits(and the looks of it). Both of these mods are terrific, I don't think it's an easy decision here:laugh:

Hello Kropottkin, and welcome. I decided on Aug 1 to get a Saber Touch. I had been asking question, watching reviews, hanging out in the chat rooms etc. Its not easy to decide, especially when it was to be my first real MOD. I think you made a great decision. I have small hands and I got the reg 3.7 volt. It takes 18650 batteries and a charge will last about 8-15 hours, all depending on hard Im chain vaping. Here is what is stated on the site about the mini: It Uses (1) 16340 3.7v Protected Battery, This Battery Usually lasts about 5x What a 510 Battery Does!

Im not real sure what this means but 5x comes out to. Depends on what you are using now. All I can say is that with the better batteries available, the performance is better as the PV gives out more consistent power throughout the battery charge. I hope I said that right, im sure if this is wrong someone will jump right in.

Many of the Moon Dwellers here have more than one Saber and Im sure someone has both and can give you a better idea on how long the mini lasts compared to the 3.7 or the vari volt and 5 volt etc.

There are only 2 thing wrong with a Saber Touch,One is that you have so many choices on how to personalize it and make it truely unique and YOURS that it may drive you nuts. ( but not as nuts as you will be when you get it in your hands) Second bad thing is you might get the urge to hoard Saber Touch MODS

Oh, hey - thanks for the welcomes! You guys are super sweet - though obviously terrible enablers as well. I'm already very tempted to just say, "Oh, what the hell; I'll just buy two!" (which is actually a perfectly awful plan, as I don't happen to work for Goldman Sachs).

:glare:

So anyway. Does "5 times a 510" actually mean 5 times a cigalike 510, or 5 x 2hours = 10 hours? Is that a reasonable expectation for a device this small? (As I say, this is my first mod, and cluelessness is clearly the key concept here.)

:)

And what about the passthrough option? Is this something that I can buy later, or does it have to be added to the initial purchase? I can't quite make up my mind about that, either.

This is not an easy choice. You guys are SO right about that!

I hanestly can't answer the whole 5x's a 510 cig like batt, since that was my first device over 2years ago and I only used it for about 5days before uping to an ego:laugh:

No for the passthru, that is something that can be added to a Saber at anytime. It's a bottom cap thet contains the passthru connection and replaces batteries, so basically, you just take the bottom cap off and remove the batts. Then replace with the passthru cap and connect it to the power supply of choice(I myself like the Variable Version:))

I don't know about the Google Wallet thing.

As for battery life, the usual expectation is about 1 hour per 100mAh... The AW IMR 16340(battery used by the mini) is 550mAh, so about 5.5 hours on the mini. Remember of course that depends on your vaping style, i.e atomizer resistance, how often you puff, how long each puff is... Could be a little less, could be alot more...

Thank you, Tat_Skull - that's just what I'd hoped.

:)

But here's a whole new problem entirely: I've now decided on the Mini (shiny silver with old school brass end caps) but can't figure out how to check out! My account doesn't allow me to use that Google Wallet thing, so . . . ?

Surely there's another way?

Email Sir Lawrence and explain, Im sure not everyone has a google wallet, its basically like Paypal. You could sign up for an account easily. Get ? Google Wallet

I hope that helps

Wow, a guy doesn't log into ECF for a few days and all sorts of things are happening on the Moon!

Welcome Kropotkin! I hope you were able to purchase that mini of your dreams. My :2c: regarding the battery life is this: regardless of the mah, change your batteries often (every few hours) because these batteries last longer and work better when they are never fully discharged. In fact, I have been using the same four pairs of AW IMR 3.7 550mah for over a year now and they are just as good as when I bought them. And, yes, we are extremely terrible enablers .

P.S. Hi Tearose! Good to see you again! :)
P.P.S Greetings LadyStrick! Welcome to the Moon. It's a great place to hang out and enjoy your Saber.
P.P.P.S Yes, my family and I were able to view that gorgeous blue moon.

Hi, nice Moon People!

Sadly, I don't think the admins at the university where I teach will allow this Wallet Thing on their computer system, though I've no idea why. (Probably to make sure that kids aren't buying bongs and betting on the ponies during math class, but who can say?)

Anyway, I emailed Mr. Moon yesterday, but I'll try again this evening. At this point I'm 100% committed to the Saber Quest, and am entirely prepared to mail him a shoebox full of dollar bills.

:)

That's a pretty fascinating gooseneck gizmo, AceCC. I had no idea vapor could travel so far!

Hi AceCC, anavidfan, rondasherill, Kropotkin (and everyone else here :))! I just wanted to say +1 to what Ace said about "deep cycling" your batteries. I try to switch them out every few hours. And, if I sense the slightest drop in performance or vapor...that's a good indication as well.

Welcome to the forum! I'm new too and I only have ONE Saber Touch. LOL And, I love it.

:)

I love my gooseneck ! I got it at Totally Twisted Texas for $20. The cartomizer is still at the end where the drip tip is. It would be really cool if the vapor actually traveled up the neck!
