I usually do video reviews because, like Terraphon, I like to get the best initial reaction possible, in order to give the most honest review I can. Today though, I won't be doing it in a video format because a) problems with my webcam b) I already tried the e-liquid when I received it this morning
But anyway, On to the written review.
First and foremost - If I were to sum up VaporNine.com's customer service in one word, it would be - Fantastic. I placed my order on Thursday March 19th while Ben (I believe it is) was out of town. The next day, he got back and got right to work. My order was sent out w/ confirmation by Saturday and the package was handed to today, Monday morning.
I have ordered e-liquid from Vapornine before, so I knew what to expect as far as bottle size and shape goes, but for those who don't - their e-liquid comes in a very convenient hard plastic dropper bottle. I have never had it leak on me while the top was screwed on, and the dropper itself is a great size for dripping and topping off.
I was lucky enough to receive my Dura-C along with the same delivery, so I not only did I get to test the liquid, but got to test a new device and of course, on a brand new atomizer.
The atomizer on the Dura-C broke in very fast, by the 1st hour, it was working well enough for me to give the Menthol e-liquid a fair and honest first impression.
I rate e-liquids by Accuracy, which means how close the advertised flavor is to the real thing. Flavor, Throat Hit, Vapor and an Overall score, which is a standalone final score that I give to the product.
Accuracy - 8.5
I was quite impressed by the accuracy of the Menthol. Unlike the TW Menthol (which I video reviewed recently) It does not pack a huge minty punch when you first start to drag, instead, you feel it alot more as you inhale, which is how Menthol should be.
There is a minty linger, however, and it does not resemble that slight linger left after a menthol analog. The linger left after taking a long drag is closer to a Mentos Mint, which I do not particularly like so much, but the good news is, it goes away quick, unlike the strong linger left after the TW Menthol.
Overall, it was pretty damn accurate, and I have no complaints aside from the linger. I do have a Puresmoker.com True Menthol flavor being shipped, so I will see if that'll beat this one on accuracy, but one thing is certain, it'll be pretty tough.
Flavor - 9
After the 250 or so dollars I have spent thus far on e-liquids, very few of them are able to deliver a smooth, consistent taste, yet finish nice and strong with little to no aftertaste. This does the job nearly perfectly. Like an analog menthol, it comes in smooth, with a hint of mint, yet when you inhale, it hits strong and leaves fairly quickly. This is what I look for in all my e-liquids.
Throat Hit - 9
Nearly perfect is all I can really say. It delivers a very nice, refreshing throat hit. This is when you really feel that menthol. The only reason I give it a 9, and not a 10, is because it could be just a tad stronger , but as it is now, it is just fine.
Vapor - 10
At first, I didn't know if it was the e-liquid producing huge amounts of vapor, or if it was the Dura-C, so I dripped into my Npro, and Pilot, and the results were all the same. This thing produces a ton of vapor. In all honesty, I did notice a decent amount more in my Dura-C, maybe because its brand new, or possibly something else, I don't know. But either way, the Menthol flavor produces a great deal of vapor.
Overall - 9
Overall, I am very pleased with this flavor. Not to put down TW, but I just did not get exactly what I was looking for when I purchased their Menthol, so I took another shot and went for the Vapornine. I am glad I did because so far, this brings me the closest to a real menthol analog experience. Aside from a very few minor things, like the throat hit being just a tad harder, and the accuracy not being fully there (which so far, the only e-liquid I would give a perfect 10 on accuracy is Vapornine's Redbull) I think it's a great e-liquid and recommend it to any menthol smoker.
