Hi all!

I'm Maya & I've been vaping happily for just over a week.

Today, I accidentally vaped down to no liquid (I know, very stupid of me), I noticed because of a horrid plastic taste. Anyway, I quickly refilled & vaped, however after vaping I decided unscrew to re charge but I noticed vape coming from the bottom of my atomizer once unscrewed.

I'm a stuck on what to do now, is normal or have I sadly broken my poor pen, if I haven't broken it, is it safe to use still or shall I get another one? (& learn my lesson the hard way).

Thanks a lot

I can't see you have done much wrong. You might have burned the coil a bit, but that's not terminal for your hardware.
If vapor was coming out of your tank when you unscrewed it, there must have been vapor present around the base of your tank. This is normal for some tanks. I am just amazed you got it off quick enough to see such a thing? :)

For pen styles, most of the atomizers get the airflow from the bottom of the atomizer around where you screw it in. if you push the button and not inhale, vapor might come out of the atomizer and into the connection area. It's not uncommon. You can see where it comes out by pushing the button and blowing.... it should come out between the atomizer and battery.

As far as the plastic taste, that sounds like a dry coil. That can be for various reasons, but some might be: Old coil, high VG juice, not enough juice, Not enough time to re-wet the wick, and many more. There are so many factors, it's hard to begin troubleshooting.

also, what's not mentioned enough, is make sure you take a Q-tip and clean the contacts of the battery AND atomizer regularly. This ensures a good connection, and will help your battery last longer.

I almost cooked a coil this morning by running it dry. Was concentrating on the data on my monitor and it was a good thing I passed the tank past my eyes or I would have gotten a dry hit! Maybe a low tank light like in my truck?

That is why TC is becoming popular... it should help prevent dry hits. Remember, just because it's temperature control, doesn't mean you have to vape it at a high temperature and blow massive clouds.
