It's simple to do a quick test, grab a coffee filter or paper towel, take a pull off of the e-cig through the filter or paper towel and you should see nothing but a clear wet spot on it as opposed to if you do the same thing with a cigarette you will immediately notice the tar on it. It's actually a little disturbing to see what we have been putting in our lungs all day long for years.

Even while I still smoked I thought about all the nastyness of the cigarettes, the film in my truck and anywhere else I smoked. Anything the e cig might produce I can live with. A few days after I gave up the smokes I cleaned the truck. I'm truly looking forward to summer now when I can keep the windows rolled up and the A/C recirculating in the Texas heat.

What makes up that clear wet spot though? That doesn't prove anything. VG, PG, and PEG are very absorbent compounds. They're hydrophobic, but they are also hydrophilic. The bases themselves may or may not cause a film, but they can absorb practically anything you throw at them. It would be really easy for all the other stuff floating in the air to become part of the floating solution, and both combined could cause that grease on windows, if the bases themselves don't already do so.. That kinda reminds me of that bogus "study" that said there isn't nicotine in vaporized nicotine liquid clouds, with using coffee filters in air ventilation. Not putting you on blast or anything, just pointing something out, and it reminded me of that.

We all know that cigarettes leave stains on everything. I am wondering if over the years, vaping inside, will residue build up from e-smokes? Will my ceiling turn yellow for example. Thanks!

Vape and blow into a tissue. What do you see? :D

You might get a slight, clear film with high VG. Odor from vaping is similar to a scented candle. It lingers a bit, but that's it.

My thoughts exactly...don't get me wrong, I agree vaping clouds are much cleaner than/ preferred over cigarette smoke but I think you are kidding yourself if you think that it is just "vapor". The fact that vaping clouds linger rather than immediately dissipate is good evidence that we are releasing chemicals into the air - rather obvious since we are burning PG, VG, nicotine and flavoring. Directly supports my opinion that we should be respectful of non-vaporists as we are of non-smokers...don't vape where you would not smoke a cigarette! Might seem off topic but this discussion and suspectK's post presented an irresistable segue to vent my frustration with the self-righteous vaporists I've found on ECF that insist on vaping in inappropriate public places.

There are other vaping forums out there.
