Started vaping yesterday with an EVOD and am enjoying it, as much for the novelty of a vaping machine as the nicotine hit itself. Love the crackling sound it makes when pressing the button just before drawing on it. :D Haven't had a roll up cigarette since tuesday night and hope to keep it that way. Have vaped just over half of a 1.5ml tank since yesterday so I'm obviously not hardcore lol. But I guess that's about right, as with roll ups, I never smoked constantly day or night, only one or two in the morning, sometimes in afternoon and a few at night. Just as long as I get nicotine fixes at various times, that's all I need really. Higher nic strength suits me for those reasons and on 18mg at the moment and have some 24mg which I haven't tried yet.

Just a quick, probably dumb question. The juice I'm using at the moment is tobacco flavoured and there's an obvious smell in the exhaled clouds. Does constant vaping eventually make a room reak of vapour like smoke does with cigarettes, getting into the fabrics of the room, or does vapour always dissipate and never leaves a room smelling of whatever is vaped? I haven't vaped for enough time to know. It wouldn't matter if it's a fruity or food flavour, but if I was constantly vaping tobacco flavours, could a room still end up smelling like an ashtray?

I notice some flavors linger a while in my car, but at home not so much. I'm sure different flavors will have different levels of "lingering" smell. Actually it's my bakery goods/dessert flavors that hang around for a while (um--my car smells like custard and cinnamon--still better than smelling like an ashtray).

I tend to smoke the tobacco flavors more at home, and even if the smell lingers, it is definitely not the ashtray smell; more like a hint of mustiness (like an old library, old book smell) and maybe a bit of vanilla and oak scent going on. Or maybe that's what my house always smelled like, and I've finally regained my sense of smell...At any rate, my kids (who are very outspoken) have made no complaints; they rather enjoy guessing what flavor I'm vaping, and comment that I don't reek like cigs anymore (even though no smoking ever inside).

Hey Danny, welcome to ECF and congrats on making the switch!
Glad you're enjoying it mate.
As Hypatia says, I only noticed a limited linger on desert/fruit flavours and even then they weren't for hours at a time let alone days.
I've been vaping 8-9 months and haven't noticed a linger like cigs did.

Don't ever worry about what you consider a dumb question, we've all been there and will answer as others have answered ours.

add clove to that list too.
you shouldn't have much of a problem with the consumption your talking about.

Welcome! I have been vaping since Oct 12th and vape in my house and if I have a flavor with a strong scent I will notice it linger for a little bit but not very long and it doesn't make clothes and blankets and furniture smell like it or anything. It's different than cigarettes. I get comments from my mom all the time about how good whatever I am vaping smells. She's very supportive and for that I am thankful.

Like other's said, I think it just depends on the vape ... some people say it stinks?

Would they really prefer a cigarette? Or are they just crititcal people? :?:

At any rate, welcome to ECF! :)

I am going to go with just critical people!

I once had somebody who I knew walk by as I exhaled my vape. (this was outside) They coughed and waved their hands like I had just exhaled cig smoke on them...
I said "You do realize this is water vapor and not cig smoke, right?" To which they stopped and said "Oh! Yeah, I forgot"
