Sorry for the slow reply. I've been working on re-doing my web site.
All of the Echo style equipment I have is KR808D1 threaded. I didn't have any plans to go the 510 route with these. Those are basically EGOs. I did do a search and there are a few vendors out there that do carry automatic EGOs.
Do be careful with adapters on these batteries. The ones I sell are SEALED automatic. That means there are very tiny holes on the side of the battery, right in the thread area so that you can draw air through the battery. All of the 808 to 510 adapters I have seen (including the ones I sell on my site), cover up these tiny holes. As such, you can't draw enough air through the battery to activate it.
As far as charging these batteries, they are manufactured to be used with a VERY slow charge, less than 200 mA. As a result, it does take a while to charge these batteries. From a size perspective they are similar to the comparable EGO batteries.
There is a thread here on ECF pretty much dedicated to the ECHO (I can't participate since I am a supplier). Those folks can point you to the best places to find exactly what you are looking for. Just do a search on ECHO.
