Variable voltage and sub ohming

Is it general rule of thumb that you cant sub ohm on a vv mod or is it down to the specific V V mod

Capability is based on two features. 1. What minimum resistance the device chipset is programed to read as a short (a feature of self-protection), rather than functional resistance... and 2. What the maximum current output is, as is necessary to adequately support X resistance.
