I purchased a smoketech SID a few months ago I realized that it started not firing and I had to push the button a lot harder. This was my solution which may differ depending on your situation.
I took the battery out and the mod apart so I had 5 pieces in total. I made sure the battery was separated and away. I now took a few qtips which alcohol on the ends. I then swabbed over the part with the spring and around the spring. For the battery tube I washed hot water through it and then squeezed a paper towel through it. Be careful if you want to be on the safe side use gloves in case of battery acid even if there may not be any though. Underneath the screen portion on the bottom there will be a connected pin that looks to be brass swab that with your alcohol qtip as well . The use qtip to clean around the button and press a few times. Then the whole top portion you wanna use the cotton swabs until it looks new again even in the middle of the 510 connection. After that clean the 510 threads on your tank so you will have a clean connection. Let everything dry and put the battery back and and see how it works. If it still doesn't work right try a warranty or possibly purchasing a new device.
