I think somebody said Lavatube is an auto so I wouldn't want that. Is it really auto with a hole in the center post of the connector? And I am not sure but I think someone said that with very low ohms it automatically cuts the voltage way down? Dunno.
For a VV box mod I recommend one with a varicool circuit to get better battery life and the least expensive varicool vv box mod has to be Old Goat's at (I think) $55. See ECF's Buying & Selling... Modders and Accessories section or find Old Goat's website. Look like the SMoktek one above matches that price but is out of stock.
And I'm gonna go look at that Infinity myself. A tube mod would be better balanced and shape for something like a carto tank.
The Infinity Pro, at $110 from notcigs, with charger and one pair of batteries, is a solid price, a design that's gone through several evolutions (notcigs' Buzz was the first production VV, from what I've heard). Add a second pair of batteries and that brings you to a bit under $120, then use the "ECF Buzzkill" coupon code.
Simple to use, rugged (my original Infinity and Buzz Pro have taken a beating, and many others have had amazing reports of what their notcigs products have gone through and kept working), higher maximum power than lava tube or the high priced units, excellent customer service. My run time, on Infinity and now Buzz Pro, has been consistently 6 - 7 ml of eliquid vaped at about 5V, 8 watts, between battery changes.
The Infinity regulator is solid, you really stay at the selected voltage right until the batteries need to be swapped.
The Infinity does not have an LCD or multiple buttons. Just a voltage adjustment wheel and the button to activate it.
If $100 is a hard limit, either the lavatube or the Madvapes low cost unit.

you need to use both words, ECF Buzzkill, with the uppercase letters as shown, it is a 7.5% discount.Buzzkill didn't do anything
