is there a big difference between variable voltage mod and variable wattage mod?

I'm not a DC fan anyway. I was just noting, to answer the OP's question, that the watts delivered is divided across the # of coils. So you'd either have to set the PV for # of coils, or double the watts setting for DCs.

The device itself can't tell the difference between a 1.5 ohm single coil and a dual-coil with two 3.0 ohm coils. You have to tell it manually. OR double the watts.

I don't use DCs - don't see the need with the pvs I use. I agree with what you've said there. If some-one really wants to use LR DCs on a vv/vw mod then they can always switch from vw to vv on their pv, since it has both, or just up the wattage. I don't see the point of using low resistance on these pvs myself.

Agreed. Note that I edited out the "Not true with volts" part because you actually do up the voltage...i.e. use the volt setting you would use for a single coil...or close to it. So DC stuff is problematic no matter how you slice it. You have to be aware.

I didn't notice the part you edited. My brain is officially on Christmas break. I'll edit it out of the quote for you.
