So folks as I've posted before in another thread I'm a typical dual 20 gauge, 6 wraps around a 3mm bit on a parallell mech box kinda guy. I'm not at my vape calculator but I seem to think that build has 114 watts give or take. Recently in anticipation for my tuglyfe dna 200 (which arrives today) I've been using 22 gauge in a Petri to hold me over. Not wanting to spoil the pristine black Phenotype L I have until its sitting on the dna. This is my first true high powered VW device. I don't really count the SIG 150, which I did not care for. My question for you guys is what kind of builds and what ohms do you guys run on these high powered boxes? I got my mech mod building down but I feel I'm gonna have to rethink the "fat wire" concept and transition to something smaller that gives me the vape I like.

I think youre at the stage where you can move on to more difficult builds, Start with parallel, which is a great way to get more surface area with one wire gauge or twisted. Then order some different wire, and start practicing claptons. Everyone starts claptons at some point so might as well. Once you learn claptons, I think the Fused Clapton is one of the best coils for flavor and clouds if you like and if you dont want to start any super "fancy" builds. Work your way to a fused clapton and i think youll be happy for awhile

Not sure why I wasn't notified of your response. But thanks. I got dual fused Clapton in the phenotype l sitting on top of the tuglyfe 200. It's nice. Battery life on the lipo is pretty bad to be honest.

Stay Strong

If you have the wire for it, try out a single coil, between the posts, fused 28g Ni200 Clapton wrapped in 40g N80. Space the wraps, 10-12 should do, and unwrap the Clapton at the ends of the leads going into the posts so the chip only reads the coil as a parallel Ni200.

Don't forget the Escribe software has different available TCR settings, so you can get it to do whatever you want with whatever kind of wire really. I'm waiting on either the Whiteout 200 or Reuleux to get mine, but I've built on DNA 200's before and the software is great.

Truth is, coming from someone who LOVES hot builds and cloud chases as a hobby, i never surpass 120 watts unless your going the TC route. Besides that, try out a 24G KA1 Quad! 7 wrap @ 2.5mm. Should ohm out around 0.14 and run at 120 watts, max. Gnarly cloudage, great flavor, and a great way to push a device.
