Hi everyone,

My name is Brian, and I'm 35 from Denver, CO. My new joyetech eGO C starter kit should be here in a couple hours, and I'm pretty stoked to quit the coffin nails! I guess the only thing I'm worried about is the leaking issues I've researched, so I hope that doesn't happen.

The owner of the Little shop of Vapors where I bought it also said she included a Vision CE4 for me to try as well. I really hope it works out and kills my 1.5 pack a day habit, as nothing has worked for me to quit to date (just tried patches a few times). I look forward to getting to know all you a little bit, and asking noob questions!

Welcome from another new guy lol. I quit 3.5 months ago using an ego twist and clearomizers. What MG nic juice did you get? I started with 24mg and it killed the craving but I got carried away on vaping and got a bit ill feeling. I bumped down to 18mg and can vape all I want with no ill effects hahah. BTW I was a little over a pack a day "RED" smoker if that helps any...

Hey vision and Mark - thanks!

I gew up in Lancaster, PA so scranton wasn't all that far away :)

I've got a sampler pack of Timeless Vapors all in 24mg. I was scared to try anything less lol. I've only tried my buddy's eGO C a few times and liked it, and also tried the Vuse stuff RJ Reynolds is marketing here pretty aggressively. My chick thinks she can try to quit with that, but I didn't like it too much. I smoked (or soon will be past tense) nearly 2 packs a day of the marlboro gold 72's, but have always loved the yellow packs of american spirit.

Thanks again! I opted the low resistance kit based on the research here and other places. I hope it's plenty to kill the cravings.

Nice choice. From my experience I must warn you. Take it easy when you first start. Dont sit and vape for the whokle time you would smoke a cig. Start off with a few puffs and let it settle. Then you can really gauge weather you are craving the nic or the habit of the analog.

I started just chain vaping 24mg and as I said, I got some very ill feelings. Just want to try and warn you so you dont make the same mistake lol.

Good luck to you! You'll like this so much better than that horrid patch (been down that road about 5 or more times).

For comparison on nic levels, I was a 1 1/2 to 2 PAD smoker, and I found I definitely need 24mg or higher. Of course, I don't vape like I smoke. I take one puff every few minutes to keep me charged up. If you feel yucky, vape a little less and pick up some lower strength nic.

Welcome Brian,

Definitely sounds like you've got some good opinions going into your starter kit there, I will agree with vision on that though and say don't be afraid to try a bottle of 18mg juice and see how that goes for your cravings once you get going.. I smoked around a pack of menthol 100s everyday haven't had one since I started vaping, and with 18mg non-tobacco flavored juices, I can stand around a group of 10 people smoking and it doesn't bother me a bit as far as cravings go.

Also, even though I don't have any experience with Vuse, I'll bet your girlfriend is about to get very jealous of you in the coming weeks. Maybe a starter kit of her own would be in order for Christmas? :)

Enjoy it man, it really is amazing all of the things you never noticed were affected by smoking and watching them come back around.

Thanks again guys - I hope this time "it's it" and I won't go back to smoking analogs. I found some incredible deals on genuine joyetech kits, and ordered one for the fiancee, but in the end she asked me to cancel hers as she just wants to try the damn Vuse products. I can't wait to tell her I told you so!

BecknCo, Welcome to ECF and congrats on making the decision to eliminate the stinkies from your life! There is a lot of info and helpful people here that will help you make the transition from smoking to vaping much easier and enjoyable. It's important that you find a liquid you like asap, nothing worse than having to vape something that tastes like the south end of a north bound cat!

btw cool pic, is that a cutty? Kinda hard to tell with a small pic and bad eyes. :D

Hello Welcome, I have just started as well. I am 33 and have never made an honest effort at quitting my pack and half a day of marb. reds habit. I received my E smart Kit and have cut my habit over half In the first week of having my unit I only smoked an average of 3-5 ciggs a day the first week. Today one day shy of a week I have only smoked two ciggs today. I do not feel the need to smoke regular ciggs my e-smart takes away the need. honestly now when I do smoke a real one it tast nasty to me. I think you will do fine. It has almost been effortless for me and I say almost because there has to be some mind power, but not nearly as much as I thought it would be. so far so good. can not wait to hear how you are coming along. wishing you the best of luck. you got this, just keep thinking vape vape vape every time you want that cigg. I stocked up on a few flavors as well just to help me try new kinds and keep it intresting. :)

Welcome Brian from another Denverite. Congrats on your decision to quit tobacco. I'm a relative noob (day 58), and vaping has worked well for me. I'm an older guy who smoked slightly more than a pack a day, give or take. This forum has been a wealth of info and I lurked here for a while, even prior to vaping (had to do my research).

You'll find tons of info, expertise and opinions in ECF. It seems that everyone's vaping journey is a bit unique. It looks like you have some good gear on its way to you and hope you find that it works for you. My initial set up (and I am still using it) is an ego c upgraded battery (1000mah) and a Kanger MT3S BCC bottom coil clearomizer. I bought doubles (or more) because I did not want to be in the position of "Oh, my battery is dead. I think I'll buy just one pack and smoke a couple until the batter recharges." Based on the advice from folks here I bought a backup and then a backup for my backup. So far, so good.

I've been vaping 18mg, 50pg/50vg of some type of menthol (I was a menthol smoker) mixed with a USTobacco flavor and was surprised at how little I jones'd for a cigarette after starting to vape. Everyone's experience is different, but I have been thrilled with vaping and thrilled to be smoke and tobacco free.

Vapor Leaf is the only local I've shopped at, but it sounds like Little Shop of Vapors is treating you well.

I'm just becoming open to some different flavors that have nothing to do with tobacco flavors or menthol and am waiting for a sampler pack of some fruit and other flavors from Mr. Vape, Inc that should arrive either late this week or early next week.

I hope you find vaping to be a sufficient substitute for cigarettes and that it gives you even more enjoyment than smoking did. I also hope you find the folks in ECF to be helpful, supportive and informative. They have sure been that way for me.

By the way, nice trout avatar.

So I just got my kit and I've been puffing away on sin tobacco and applewood tobacco from timeless vapor -- are these things supposed to be this sweet tasting? (not a huge fan of the sweet). I'm also coughing like crazy - I must be doing this inhale thing wrong and I only had my last analog a few hours ago.

I'll check out that guide you posted RednBlack -- thanks again everyone for the well wishes and I'll look forward to chatting with you more!

Some flavors are sweet. VG is sweet. You can find flavors that are not sweet and go with 100%vg if you need to. As for the couphing, it is differant. What setup are you using? if its variable I would say turn it down a litttle until you get used to it. If its not then maybe take some smaller draws. After a day or so you will be puffing your heart out to get your fix but then it will even out again. At least that was my experience.
