This was my first attempt (actually first real DIY period) at an Atomic Fireball which is the flavor that helped me get my wife off (mostly, down to 1 a day) analogs. Being trained for 26 years, I figured she’d give me less grief once she realized how much I’ve spent the past couple weeks on supplies if I start with one just for her :)

My target was a 15mg/ml at 70/30 mix…

Wizard Labs Nic 24mg/ml 60/40 62.5%
Wizard Labs PG 22.5%

15% Flavorings (Total)
Cinnamon Redhots (PA) 7.5%
Cinnamon (PA) 6%
Ethyl Maltol (PA) 1.5%

First Taste, obviously is fresh, dripped some and I think it’s pretty good, very slight heaviness on the tongue after exhale-not sure exactly what or why, looking forward to trying it again after it has sat a few days.

Anyway, kinda fell like a kid with his new home science kit :party:pretty excited!

Forgot to mention...

The real cool thing is after pluggin' in supply costs, the calculator I was using to figure out my mixing ratios estimated the cost for the 10ml bottle at $1.38, how cool is that!

I love looking at the cost of my DIY mixes. :) It's crazy low now that I buy PG/VG by the gallon. I only vape 2mg, so my cost is way lower than most folks. Buying TFA flavors from WL helps too. My FlavourArt mixes cost a little more since the flavoring costs a bit more, but those are usually used at 2% anyway.

I need to work out the best vendor to buy TFA in bulk. OneStopDIY shop had a very good deal a couple weeks ago (5 x 30ml for $26 shipped), but I wish I could find those prices all the time. Wizard Labs comes very close to that, but it works out to $8 more for 150ml PLUS shipping.

I apparently need to do some research!

Can't help much on "bulk" purchases, I'm really at the DIY beginner stage, I really like Wizard Labs and got quite a bit from them initially - 24mg/ml Nic base 60/40, PG and TFA flavorings in 8ml bottles. Then I found ecigexpress and ordered some FlavourArt Tobacco flavors, then on to Perfumers Apprentice for more tobacco and flavors in 4ml bottles that I missed the first and second time. Now I'm stockpiling 100mg/ml Nic PG, last order was from MyFreedomSmokes as Wizard Labs is still down (reopens Monday :thumb:) because of their move.

Would be pretty cool to get my vaping cost down to under $1 a day counting the occasional clearo or carto loss, very doable IMO :)

Tried this and its great. I'm going to do a batch with menthol.

The wife and I finally got around to trying this after letting it sit a few (5) days and I have to say it came out pretty darn good, looks like I'm done having to buy her cinnamon fix, pretty stoked :thumb:

Awesome, isn't it? I've got my price down to a bit over $12.50 for 250 ml (I do huge batches at a time of my daily vape), or a hair under $0.05 per ml.

My daily cost, and I'm a heavy vaper, is $0.30 for liquids.

I am hoping to get our (wife and myself) cost down to under $1 a day :thumb: Now though it's time to start working on her Blueberry-Honeysuckle juice, think that one is going to take a few tries, thanks :)

Costs under a buck a day are entirely doable! Mom uses my DIY as well, and her costs are now (drumroll) $0.10 per day for liquids.

Most of the key there is to buy your nic liquids in the largest quantities. I'd say at the cheapest price, which is kind of true, but I won't use anything but a high-quality supplier. I don't go looking for deals; it's Wizard Labs or My Freedom Smokes only as I've always had great things to say about both, and both are in the same price range. Which also happens to be pretty reasonable in either case.

I could drop my cost a bit more by purchasing PG and VG in larger quantities, but storage is an issue for me. VG, at least, will go bad eventually, and even PG has a lifespan. So I store smaller quantities and pay a bit more for it.

In my case, my primary flavoring is menthol, which is extremely cheap if you get the crystals and make your own flavoring solution. One ounce of menthol crystals are, for me, about a year's worth and run around $9--and again, I don't skimp on the quality there! I use stuff I know is good.

Blueberry-Honeysuckle, huh? That's going to be fun. One thing I might try is starting with 10 ml of base solution of each, and trying various ratios of mixing together. For me, I'd find that my preference were more blueberry than honeysuckle. But it lets you play around until you find something your wife really likes.

Don't be afraid to add a drop per ml of menthol to that, either. It can really brighten a fruit flavor and make something that's dull and lifeless stand out. I'd try that as a last resort if needed. Koolada can also help you out, but not nearly as much.

Sweet, my $1/day (under) target was for 2 of us and factoring in the occasional clero/carto loss, it'll get there :)

+1, Bought my first round of 24mg/ml Nic 60/40 (wanted to start with a safer Nic level) from Wizard then they shut down for the move, have since bought 600 mg of 100mg/ml Nic 100% PG from Freedom in the mean time, caught their 20% off sale on Tuesday :thumb:

Thick my first try was 15%, Blueberry (wild) 9% and Honeysuckle 6%, seems a little dry, not getting the Blueberry yet though I can definitely smell it, added some Ethyl Maltol 1.5%, will let is sit a little longer, close but not quite :(

I found a recipe I am looking forward to trying that has Koolada as soon as my order from TFA comes in, the flavor was called On The Rocks in the TPA/TFA Recipes thread.

That's funny, I was just searching thread for honeysuckle and this one came up. Also this one Uno, it sounds good!

Thanks for the link, like magic - ask and you shall receive :)
