:facepalm:I am new to this site, I registered while I was waiting for my wife in a department store on my phone and forgot all about it.

I quit smoking just over a month and a half ago now, and I feel great, I am 35 years old and had been smoking at least a pack a day for 15-16 years.

So now that I am getting settled into the vaping scene I have found myself searching for answers. I have purchased 2 mini vivi novas, an iClear30, and 3 batteries.

I love the mini vivi novas, but I thought I burned out the first one, but now the taste this morning of the 2nd vivi is off. So I started searching as to why this may be and discovered they are basically disposable. I don't think the smoke shop I went to let me in on that tid bit.

So I started searching for mini vivi replacements online and got a little overwhelmed.

Should I just be buying replacement wicks? I can see how this can quickly become a collector's hobby, it's fun to vape and I would love to have a million bucks to blow on whatever variable voltage cartomizer, clearomizer, atomizer, jeffersonizer, lincolnizer that's available, but reality dictates that I try and be as economical as possible with this new hobby.

I am replacing a $8 - $10 a day burden, as a pack of smokes rarely didnt come with a cup of joe, but even though I've quit smoking and the health benefits are great, I feel I am not optimizing my funds dedicated to vaping, it was so easy to just go buy a pack of smokes and be done with it.

Is there a vaping for dummies out there? Keep in mind I'm no dummy, I am a union firefighter that is a public accountant for a second job.

Hi and welcome. I just bought a vivi nova from a BM. I use a carto tank, called the Texas Tuff tank. This Vivi Nova I got was a true Vision Vivi and came with 3 wicks,in different OHMs The guy at the shop showed me how to clean and take apart. On You tube there is a guy named Phill Busardo(SP??) but he shows how to rebuild the vivi nova and it looks simple enough and I am not into complicated. When I smoked,I spent 250.00 a month;now 48-56.00. The most I have spent in any given month(also an accountant) was 118.00 and that is when I bought my Vamo. That was 62.00+ juices and cartos. I now do DIY juice, also to cut expenses and my juices are just as good, the ones I spend 5.99 for,my cost 1.06. You can keep your cost low and do not need every gadget on the Mkt. I started with Blu,then Egos and now the Vamo. I went from the cartos,to the Ce4s,to the carto tank. The Vivi nova was just a courtesy buy and while I like it,especially the 1.8ohm,I will stay with my carto tank. Good luck to you and congrats :toast: Once you find your sweet smart you will see ur cost level. The BMs are a good way to try their products. Happy vape trails to you:vapor:

Is that a fact Jack? Sorry I just had to post that. Welcome to the world of vaping

Lots to learn guy, just start at the top of this page. Click on the Info Zone and then New E cig user information. You need to do a lot of reading before spending your hard earned money. Most members will tell you that they have wasted a lot of money on JUNK that either tastes bad, leaks, or just plain does not work.

Once you learn the terms and understand the different types of devices (that hold the batteries) and the delivery systems (that actually deliver and produce the vapor and taste) you can then check opinions and make a decision. Every day new vendors open shop and some frankly are in it just for the profit with very high prices. Others have been in business for years and have excellent reputations. Check out opinions on vendors first.

As for Vivi Novas: Some people swear by them, but most move onto carto tanks or RBAs (rebuildable atomizers) fast. Do some reading on carto tanks, which are just a extra long cartomizer with one or two holes punched into them and placed into a tank full of juice. The juice wicks up into the carto and is vaporized. No dripping, good taste, and long lasting. Personally I enjoy the Artemas Tank at madvapes.com using Smoktech single coil, 2.0 Ohm or 3.0 Ohm locking cartos. They are inexpensive about $8.00 for the tank and $9.00 for a pack of 5 cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping. It is an easy way to get into carto tanks and the Artemas Tanks do not leak, are stylish, and lock the carto into the tank so it cannot fall out.

Best Wishes
