So, I am about a month into vaping. I really enjoy it but still sneak a few analogs. Nothing like the pack a day I was smoking. I have been reading a lot, still learning. This is overwhelming with all the info and terms.

Anyways, I started with the V2 808 style mini. Works great but I just ordered the eGo-c Starter Kit. Excited for it to come. I also couldn't help my self and ordered a eGo-c twist battery and 2 vivi nova mini clearomizers. Think I should be set up now!

You'll end up seeing most of us started like you, and within the first month or two had spent a large amount of dough on upgrading. It's the only downside of vaping, you end up getting addicted to the technology aspect of it and want bigger and better things, or even to try out something that interests you!

You'll find your eGo purchases will be an incredible upgrade from your 808s...a WORLD of difference! You made a good choice, and you'll know if the first couple of minutes after setting it up!

Congrats on slowing down on the smokes, don't think you're failing at trying to stop if you have a couple here and there...you're not smoking a PAD anymore, and that's a huge accomplishment!! Keep at it brother, it only gets better!!

Thanks everyone. It was from some research on here that I decided to go that route. Seems the 510 platform has a lot more versatility. The girlfriend doesn't understand. She thinks I am just using this to quit smoking. Lol. We will see. What she does know is that I don't stink anymore!

I was about a month into vaping also when i was still sneaking 2-3 cigs a day while using the blu cig. It was at that time I ordered the echo kit and two slightly higher mg/ml bottles of juice. Using the echo with those juices the first day I had them I never smoked a cigarette again. From there I've been able to order the next step down in nicotine strength with every order and now I'm on 12 from 36! When you get your eGo you will truly notice the greatness of vaping and will want cigs less and less.

You guys are making it worse! I already couldn't wait, now I'm super excited and know I made a good decision! Thanks again everyone.

I'm still learning about the low resistance, and variable voltage and............ So much to learn. Mind is spinning. Carts, tanks, clearomizers..... Wow.

Actualy nothing very confusing at all.
You already will get basicly the best setup if not considering those expensive PV's (lavatube, provari, evic, etc). And you will get a clearomiser what is better than carts/tanks/etc. So you just need to know littlebit about ohm and voltage - thats it.
Basicly what you want to do is just vape higher than 6watts.
example1: 1.8ohm and 3.3V (regular ego battery gives 3.3V) gives you about 6watts vape.
example2: 2.8ohm and 4.1V gives you about 6watts vape.

so you must know what resistance coil you have and you need to adjust the voltage for it. because you ordered ego twist already , its simple for you. if you would have regular ego battery then you need to use low res coils.

ofcourse lots of people will tell you that "normal" vape begins at e.g. 8W :D its all about what someone will prefer.

I have to say I think these silly EGO's are about the best thing to ever happen to vaping! Decent size, decent price and a great life! I don't like that they are disposable, but that's my problem, not someone else's! They really have changed the game all around!
Welcome to ECF, enjoy the journey and there's lots more to learn and lots more coming in the near future!

Yeah , When I stopped smoking, I put analogs down for nearly 2 years... I've been vaping ever since analog free until recently, the past few times I've had a couple Of beer's I've snuck a few analogs in...

The cool thing is I don't want one when I wake up, and I only smoke maybe one or two... I would never go back to analogs daily though, just more of a once in a blue moon thing!

Thank you. This is exactly what I need to learn. The ohms, volts, and watts are what confuse me now. Pretty sure I have the rest of the terms down.

Thank you. This is exactly what I need to learn. The ohms, volts, and watts are what confuse me now. Pretty sure I have the rest of the terms down.

Just remember Watts = Volts * Amps. It's an EE law.

Amps = Volt / Ohms.

Watts is like area. Length * height where length is the voltage and width is the amps. Amps / ohms are the resistance or how fast the electricity is flow. Voltage is the height of the wave. When you multiply the two it gives you the area of the wave or the Watts.

I'm sure that's not the most scientific of answers but it makes sense in my mind.

My atomizers on my vivi nova are around 3.0ohms ~ ( I think ) and I vape at 4.5V. So my amps are 1.5a and my volts are 4.5 so W = 1.5a*4.5v or 6.75W

Here's a good page on the formulas:

How to convert ohms to amps (A)
