Hi!
I'm new here! I've recently begun e-smoking. It's a little hard to understand it all at first but now it's pretty much second nature. I've been watching reviews and tips and tricks and everything in between. However there is one thing that's never discussed on these reviews and tips and tricks videos.
They blow those HUGE clouds and it looks like they took a breath of fresh air to them. On the other hand I'm having trouble inhaling the smallest amount of vapor without feeling like I drank sand paper water. I'm using the right inhaling technique (mouth inhale, just like when I used to smoke...)
I'm using a 16mg Green apple 70/30 PG/VG with an eGo-T. I have just ordered some 6mg samples of Maple Leaf Vapes 100% VG. I'm trying to get a smooth vaping experience and be able to take those big clouds.

I'm kinda really wondering if it's normal, or if it just takes a little time to get used to, even though my lungs are used to other vapors (3months)?
Also, is it possible to get a juice with no throat hit (or really little of it)?

The harshness of my 16mg 70/30 PG/VG is making me go back to analogs  I want to find out if what I'm looking for in e-cigs (no throat hit) exists, before I spend more money on this...

Thanks a bunch!
Fred.

Harshness can occur also if you are not getting enough liquid to the coil and on a tank that would be my first suspicion .. Also too much air to vape can do it.. too much air instead of a balanced vapor to air mixture.

Have you ever used a plain atomizer or carto?

I havent used an ego t tank, but I have heard people say that on some they have problems feeding the atty with enough juice.. Just a thought.. Hope it works out. 16 mg isnt that high a content i would think to give you that burning sensation. Might be but not for me..

try a 510 atty with drip tip if you havent already and see if you feel a difference.. imho 70/30 is just about right. 50/50 might be better but maybe not in a tank system.. May be too think for it.

Hi Fred and welcome to ECF! I think you are on exactly the right track with the 6mg samples of Maple Leaf Vapes 100% VG. These days I vape mostly around 6 mg, 50/50 PG/VG juice and there is no throat hit except when I vape strong flavors like menthol and even then it's minimal. The higher VG will also give you more vapor production.

Yeah I can't wait to receive my new juice...It's been 3 days I ordered from MLV and I'm guessing he's behind schedule with the holidays and all. It's been 3 days I ordered and I check for shipment regularly hehe
I've ordered 9x3ml samples, hopefully I'll like a couple.
I also got a 3.5ml Vivi Nova since I thought it might be the atomizer (that I washed) giving me problems. Although it's always a harsh hit, even if I let it sit for 30 mins, when I get back to it (and it should be full of juice) it's still harsh.

I actually have a whole Vamo setup that I'll be ordering given I find what I'm looking for with the new juice.
I'm hoping I do cuz I miss the social factor and "playing with smoke".
Thanks!

Hi SunnyHours, I am pretty new to vaping - but I don't like the harsh throat hit either. I have several new juice flavors that are just VG and they are very smooth - almost no throat hit with some of them, but lots of vapor. However I am using them with and eGo Twist which I have found realy great since I can adjust the voltage depending on the juice.

I have a Greenapple that is 60vg/40pg and it is really smooth in the Vivi Nova

I started with an ego setup and got the burn taste when I was using a thicker fluid. Someone in this thread mentioned blow into the tip and thats what I did. I did find that you can easily blow too much fluid through and it comes up the sides. I purchased a stardust tank and did not have this issue anymore. Since that time I switched to Vivi Nova and I think it is a much better setup than what the standard startup kit was when I got it. Like most have said it is your fluid but your setup will help with that as well.

Had the same issue, if you have throat irritation definitely go with a high or 100% VG content juice. Also, I have a mod with air control and have found that if I let too much air flow with the vapor I get irritation in my throat. I know you have an eGo and air control won't be something you can control but maybe think about another device that has a tighter native draw on it.
