So I recently got a kGo with Boge 510 2.0 ohm cartomizers from Dark City Vapors. I'm not a big fan of the juices so far...I got mountain 55 menthol and watermelon at 70 PG / 30 VG. I'm considering some flavors on Alien Visions but I notice most of them are VG based.

I'm planning on picking up a 510 2 ohm atomizer so I can test out the liquid before filling my carts. Will this work ok? Are VG based liquids considered better by the AV community or what?

It is not that VG is considered better. 100% VG will be thick and hard to vape unless you add water or alcohol to it. Some people use 100% VG but IMO you are better off with a blend unless you are allergic to PG. I have never ordered from AV so I don't know what thiers is like. Just my opinion, I vape 80/20 or 70/30.

REALLY? I consider VG much better because I don't like PG. 100% VG may be too thick for cartos but I wouldn't know because I don't use them anymore. I've never had to thin 100% VG juice from AVE with anything. Their VG base seems to be thinner that most. I've vaped a ton of it with carts, tanks and dripping.

Since you haven't even tried any Alien Visions juices, why don't you keep your opinion to yourself until you've actually tried it?

There is truth here - bobas isnt always great in a carto, but I've never had to thin it - bobas actually led me to investing in a Reo and using attys, now it's my all day vape... And there's nothing "harder" about bobas in an atty, it's just different.

Plan on picking up one of these = HH.357 Cisco Spec Hybrid 510 Atomizer - Avid Vaper
And put some 100% VG Boba's Bounty in that and see what it's all about dripping that combo :)

Yes, it works fine in cartos. I use mostly Boges and IKV Fusions, occasionally dual coils but not all that much anymore. All my AVE juices have been in a carto at least once with no issues, several I have used in carto tanks, too :) The combination of Hype and an EMDCC is godly :vapor: Takes a while to fill that first time, though

Why is VG considered "hard to vape" if it's thicker? The viscosity has nothing to do with how completely it vaporizes. If that were the case VG wouldn't be the more vaporous option between the two. Not all liquids are created equal, give us a try and find out.

For me personally, I've had nearly all PG blends, 80/20, 70/30, 50/50, and 100% VG and for my device.

Anything above 30% VG has a very muted flavor, and my PV has problems vaporizing it (As in there's almost 0 heat and throat hit). The 50/50 mixes are good, but I can clearly tell that a 75/25 mix would have been much better in terms of flavor and the like.

My PV also only runs at 3.6 volts, and the cartomizers are around 2.6 to 2.9 ohm's, so I don't have a lot of wattage going in to the e-liquid to really get it going as well as others. (Once I get a VV or something that runs at higher voltage, I think VG heavy juices will be much better)

The Blueberry Frost I got was the 100% VG juice, and it could have been SO much better if it was a blend. Like insanely good. I could only taste anything, and barely anything at that, on the exhale.

With all that being said, I'm going to need more juice in the next few weeks... I'll give Alien Visions a try, but I haven't had good experiences with VG heavy blends so. We'll see! :2cool:

PS - I would just like to say the vapor production itself was off the charts, like clouds of it, for my VG heavy juices. It's just everything else was extremely muted and weak... Throat hit, heat, flavor, etc.

The majority of my go-to vapes are AVE juices. I also have very few that have moderate PG blends. I can tell you that the way they mix the flavorings with these juices, it is spot on. Flavor is great, TH is great, vapor is great with the great finish that VG only juice has. I wouldn't want them any other way...
