Hey guys!

When I got my first vaporizer, it was Moto Plus Starter Kit (Which I believe is a sub-ohm?). Anyway, that was a week ago. This weekend my husband and I went to a different shop to pick up a vaporizer for him. The woman there was shocked that the guy I went to gave me the kit he did (said it wasn't appropriate for starting or something?), and then talked to us a bit about how their liquids are VG, not PG, and that PG wasn't as healthy for you as VG (like, you could get addicted to PG). Does anyone have any insight on all of this? It's all still latin to me...

The second guy (woman), based upon what you shared, is telling you some crap in my opinion.

The vast majority of e-liquids have both Pg (propylene glycol) and Vg (vegetable glycerin). The ratio of Pg to Vg varies and is known as the Pg/Vg ratio. The most common Pg/Vg ratio is 50/50, but any other variation is available.

As far as vaping is concerned, Pg is often said to be the "flavor carrier", while Vg is often said to be the "vapor maker". Pg has a thin consistency, while Vg has a thicker consistency. A small minority of vapers have a sensitivity or even an allergy to Pg, and often have to resort to 100% Vg e-liquids. You can't get addicted to either Pg or Vg.

Pg and Vg are both used in other industries, including the food and health care industry.

While some people are allergic to PG, it's not less healthy and it's not addicting. Everyone has their own ratios of PG/VG that works best for them. High VG is popular with the big clouds group as it makes more vapor. I usually like higher PG because the VG seems to bother my lungs a bit, as it's thicker. As for the sub-ohm kit, it's what's popular and people push them, even though it may not be the best choice for a beginner. A higher ohm, lower wattage vape with more of a mouth to lung draw is more like smoking and may be a better choice to get off the cigarettes.

The Person at the second vape shop is wrong

PG (Propylene Glycol) is the carrier for the medicine in most asthma inhalers.

You need both PG and VG in ejuice.

The PG carries tge flavor. VG gives the appearance Of smoke.

Sub Ohm is usually not for beginners, that style pen is more of a transition from above ohm to a sub ohm mod. The coils come in 1 Ohm, 0.5 and 0.3 Ohm. Change watts by changing coils, 0.3 would be the strongest at 50w. It's alot like a iJust 2 for anyone unfamiliar with it. I don't think I could handle the 0.3 Ohm myself yet.

Maybe used to be. Mine uses ethanol. I've only been using them for a year or so, so I don't know what used to be in them, but my pharmacist did tell me that they had been changed recently ("recently" in terms of patent law, anyway, so it could still be several years I guess) because a law was changed and the "old kind" aren't allowed anymore, hence why there's only two kinds available, and they're both name brands, and why they're expensive as all get-out if they're not paid for by insurance. There will be no "generic" inhalers until these new patents run out, at which point Big Pharm will probably lobby the government to outlaw these ones too so they can make a new kind and keep their monopoly. Duopoly? There are two brands, after all.

PG is one of the most thoroughly tested substances in the world. It's used to simulate smoke in stage productions and has been used as an anti-microbial spray in hospital ventilation systems. It is certainly not addictive and anybody who claims otherwise is an idiot.
I'm not familiar with the Moto system, so can't comment on it's suitability for new vapers. I have the impression that the atomizer is intended mainly for direct-to-lung inhales. However, that mod (battery) will accept a wide variety of atomizers, so you can try several to see which ones you like. For example, Kangertech and Aspire make a number of good, inexpensive tank atomizers that would work just fine on your Moto mod for mouth-to-lung.

I agree. In beginning vaping it pays to know what you want from vaping and learn how to get it. Some folks miss this step and go to intermediate and advanced equipment and can lose sight of the basics.
I agree because although I only been vaping 6+ months I started with EVOD's and still use them all the time. Vape shops kept pushing sub ohm on me (to sell more juice) and I love my menthol in it but other then that I still prefer my MTL EVOD's for ADV and travel. Never would have had the experience if I got the iJust 2 or SubVod they tried to up sell me initially.
