The juice consumption isn't that dramatic. I'd say 10-15% more.

Also, I get MUCH more satisfaction out of the 510 and find myself using it a lot less than my Evo and pen (and less than the 901 I'm testing now)...I actually got over 5 hours out of a 510 battery today because I just wasn't using it that much and I was totally satisfied...no cravings, at all.

So, yes; they use more juice but it seems that cost comes with the benefit of less use and more satisfaction.

I'm curious to find out if there's any difference between the Janty version of the atomizer (the ones with the wide gold band) and the Joye version (with the thin gold band.) All the information I've been able to find here suggests that the atomizers are equally compatible with the various switched, non switched, LED, non LED combinations of batteries, regardless of manufacturer (if there even is more than one manufacturer.) I like the look of the wide band model, so I ordered a new starter kit from e-smokeytreats.com. I already have a thin band version, so it'll be nice to have both. The way I see it, this is my device of choice for the foreseeable future so it makes sense to have a total of four atomizers and batteries, along with two chargers and some additional carts. I have the PCC and I agree, it's essential.

If anyone can show any difference between the two atomizers, that would be of interest to me. If they're the same, that's good too.

Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they all don't get banned by the FDA. Time to stock up on juice too...

Let us know if you see any difference between the two atomizers, please :)

It should be here early next week. I have a fresh, unused atomizer from my current thin band kit. If there's any difference, I'll shoot some pictures and post them here.

Also, can you tell me what the box was like? Is it the little white box that Joye's come in or is it a black one like the Janty branded Dura-C? Just curious.

I wouldn't think that this is correct, if the heat of a cigarette / cigar / pipe is taken in to consideration. I am not sure that nicotine is effected by heat in that way and it doesn't need the PG / VG medium to travel once it is vaporized.

I've seen my liquid use just about double when I started using manual switch e-cigs. Since my vaping habits haven't changed I would think it has to be that more liquid is lost to the burning of the hotter atty.

I also have noticed that when I'm dripping with a manual switch e-cig, I don't get as many drags as I did with an auto switch e-cig.

Something along the lines of lighting a cigarette with a Bic lighter (auto switch e-cig) then lighting a cigarette with a blow torch (manual switch e-cig).

Custom box....Flip front.

Ah, yes...there is certainly an increase in juice usage. I am sure there's also a corresponding increase in nicotine delivery but I am pretty sure the increases are rational and I know for a fact that the 510 satisfies me more so I end up using it less.

It's a trade off but I think it's an acceptable one.

Yeah...I'd say that people out there are going to be VERY hard pressed to match him in selection, service, delivery, etc...

The cream, as they say, rises to the top.

That being said, I know that there are a lot of new suppliers out there. New products are popping up all the time and there's always another person that's ready and waiting to "take the belt" so the competition is going to end up being good for everyone.

Gotta wonder who the next big dog on the block will be!

Thanks for the great review and information from all of you. Question:

Do any of you have any way to calculate or make an educated "guess" about the amount of nicotine you might be getting in the course of a day with this 510??

I'm wondering ... if it is producing so much more vapor, and the throat hit is so strong.... does that mean you are getting more nicotine ??
Also, if you are running out of "juice" and having to top off several times in the day....are you dramatically adding to the total daily nicotine dose ??

This is always a consideration for me as a newby with ecigs.
My immediate goal is to get off analogs completely.
My long term goal is to cycle down to zero nicotine.

I hate the thought of getting MORE ADDICTED to nicotine because I'm vaping so much more or because the device is giving me so much more nicotine than before.

If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say it's about the same...and here's why;

When I was a tobacco user, I smoked until I was satisfied. Sometimes that was 1/2 a cigarette, sometimes it was 3 cigarettes. Regardless, I smoked until I felt that my nicotine craving was gone.

When I started with my 401 I vaped until I was satisfied. That may be 2 puffs, it may be 10 puffs. Regardless, I've always vaped until I feel my nicotine craving is gone.

With the 510, it's the same thing. I vape until I don't feel the need to anymore.

Here's what I *know*. I vape less with the 510 than with other models. That would indicate that the level of nicotine being delivered to me is higher than with other devices. I'm getting more nicotine per use but I'm using it less so I believe it evens out.

More nicotine, less nicotine, more use, less use...I vape till I'm satisfied and then put it away :)

Thanks, that's a good way to think about it.

You did a great job with your review of the 510 and have ordered from Smokey Treats and can't wait to get it. After reading several recent posts on dealers "spaming" the forum with info and/or praises about their brands...... just out of curosity .... so you have any association with any of the ecig dealers ??

What have you found is the best liquid nicotine that most mimics Marlboro UL 100's?
Also, do you use any of the "flavors"? I just wonder which ones and from which company you find the best.

I love my 510...but hate the cart life it just sucks up the juice way too fast so I just end up dripping

oh i noticed your band connecting the atomizer to the battery is different much wider, while mine is much thinner.

did they make different versions of the 510? what is the difference?

I asked another supplier about the wide band, and he said that if a supplier orders over "X" amount of kits that they can get the wider band with a logo on it.

I've used both styles and have never noticed a difference.

Another great review Terraphon. Glad to see you're back at it.

To answer this question, no. I have no affiliation, association or relationship with any suppliers or manufacturers. I have spoken to quite a few of them on the phone and have received product from a number of them for the purpose of reviews but I have no vested interest in any company.

My interest is for the community and the community alone.

As for flavors, I have reviewed flavors from E-smokeytreats, puresmoker, Liberation, totally wicked, Johnson Creek and Addiction. I have a number of other suppliers that I am either waiting on product from or in the process of selecting product for review. If you check the juice reviews forum or my youtube page (under Terraphon) you'll find TONS of juice and flavor reviews.

Thanks for the information AND the welcome, Zaxx. It's good to know the whats, wheres and whys.

So it looks like size doesn't matter, after all ;)

wow, i didnt realize the 510 was so small!! maybe i should look into those....

nice review as always, terra!

edit...not one cuss word???

Thanks Fitz...Yeah, it's pretty small. I was initially shocked by how tiny it is but I like it...I think it's just right.

And yeah...no cussing...What happened there?!

I'm goin to post a 510 card mod tomorrow (Monday) just got back from out of town. There is a diff with the two style attys I have and will post close up macro pics in the tutorial. Both style atomisers work very well and perform great. I haven't killed any so far so I haven't broke one apart yet to check on the coils yet. The atomisers seem very durable compared to others I have used.
