Same with the 18650's from UltraFire, but to an even greater extent. My original 18650's wouldn't even fit into the Ali'i. Like I said in the review, I had to send my mod back to Kaji because I was convinced something was wrong. Well, I was right, but it wasn't the Mod that was wrong...it was the batteries. The AW's are what he designs the Ali'i to use and I was not using the correct ones.

See the AW (red) vs the Ultrafire (grey). Both are supposed to be 18650's, but the Ultrafire is at least 2-3mm longer because of the protection circuit.

Great review, can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the battery tips I'll need to get some aw's as Im using the yellow rimmed tenergy's right now for six volt vaping.

Just so you know, the yellow rimmed Tenergy CR123's are LiFEPo4's so they don't have/need a protection circuit and will fit just fine.

those AW's are hi drain IMR's... I will be using reg 18650 not hi drain... there are some differences in length and Kaji recommends if you are using the 2600 mah, to reverse the batt; negative on the top; it has 3 dimples that make a better connect.

cheers
You're using 6V with a standard 510 atty? Wow... Did I hear that right...? If so that's about 15 watts. How does that taste? Is the vape really warm?

Taste is amazing vapors a little warmer than 3.7 but not much, much denser vapor, most vapors prefer the 510 attie @ six volts. There are high voltage atties that run alittle cooler if you like it cooler.
