Viking Vapor VG Juices...

So I just got my order of 100% VG/24mg champagne, menthol tobacco, RY4, Red Bully, and Blackberry.
My question is: do I need to steep these for a bit? Because they all taste like really syrupy jolly ranchers for some reason. They all taste almost the same. Theres this really intense flavor of this syrupy sweetness and a little hint of whatever the flavor is. I dont get it. I heard really good things about this vendor but I dont like any of these juices at the moment. I thought it was because of the new cartomizers I got (a pack of CE2 R4, and LR 510 from CoV) which have a distinct primer taste, especially the 510 cartos, which I simply cannot get that flavor to go away. I tried it on the only working atomizer I have and the flavors improved a bit but not by much. What am I missing here? All of the flavors also seem to put a film inside my mouth that I cant get rid of that easily of this strange chemical flavor.

Follow up:
after extensively trying all of the flavors, the only one that actually tastes like something (and not chemical jolly rancher, well a little bit) is the RY4 which is like a nice chocolately, buttery, caramel tobacco. Its pretty good. Whats really strange is that the Red Bully (which I have tried from other vendors and should taste at least similar to red bull) tastes like the other ones I have described. No red bull-like flavor whatsoever!

Menthol tobacco: tastes exactly like viks vapor rub with that awful chemical taste.

OK so here's day two after I let them steep with the bottle open (took the tips off and evreything).
RY4:I really like the Ry4 juice they have. Its nothing like any RY4 I have ever tried. Its like a chocolately caramel flue cured tobacco type flavor. very very very good. 9/10
Red bully: I am vaping the Red Bully right now. It looks the same color wise compared to other red bull flavors that I have tried from several different vendors. It has good vapor production but it doesnt really taste like anything, just kinda sweet with a HINT of maybe red bull every once in a while, but its more like candy like swedish fish. Not terrible but a bit of a bummer because I cant understand how hard it can be to make this flavor since its artificial anyways and ive tried it multiple times from other people and it was great. 6/10.
EDIT: Maybe my atty wasnt clean but now im tasting some red bull flavor but its very weak.
Champagne: Its okay. Tastes also like candy. All of the juices except for the menthol and RY4 have this same weird chemically jolly rancher taste I described above. It does taste a bit like champagne, but a sweet variant of it. Good vapor prod. 7/10
Blackberry: This tastes like blackberries! But only like a fake kind of blackberry. Doesnt taste very natural at all. Meh. Its ok.
5-6/10
Menthol Tobacco: It tastes like eucalyptus. Kinda like when youre in the steam room and they spray that stuff that makes your lungs open up. Its kinda minty. Cant really taste any tobacco at all. Pretty unvapable unless its mixed with my sample of Virginia tobacco from CoV, which then tastes quite good. 9/10 with the CoV stuff, 3/10 otherwise.

Overall im pretty disappointed with this juice. I hope it improves more with time but it has to change A LOT for things to actually taste remotely like what they are supposed to. I will probably get a 30ml of the RY4 though, because that stuff is seriously amazing.

I had that same taste with some 80%vg stuff i got from another vendor. Sounds exactly like what you're describing. Is this something normal for stuff with a high VG content? Most of my other juices are 80%PG or 50/50.

I guess so. I just got an email back from the vendor saying that having all VG liquid makes things taste like this. Man I wish I had known before because its quite distracting. At first it completely overpowered the flavors, now its coming down a bit but still quite prevalent. Bummer. I had no idea. I got all Vg because I dont really like having much of a throat hit, like 3/10 is a sweet spot. just a tiny bit to know that its there but not intense like the first dekang juices i got and others. Ah well... its a learning process. I guess it works with some flavors and not others.
EDIT: oh man oh man I just made this mix of 65% this honey flue cured flavor I got from clouds of vapor (which is all VG, has zero throat hit and doesnt really exhibit this "problem" with the flavors) and 35 of the menthol tobacco (which has no tobacco flavor that I can detect) and its effing amazing. Probably one of the best things ive ever vaped! The menthol by itself is too strong for my taste but when cut down with tobac its really good

UPDATE: so after a week of vaping and letting them sit, all of the juices except for the Red Bull turned out great! I love them all! The champagne tastes like a candy champagne, the RY4 tastes incredible (nothing like any RY4 i tried, but its much better IMO), blackberry tastes like blackberries, menthol tobacco toned down the menthol and now has some tobacco flava to it. All REALLY good. The red bull still hardly tastes like anything, just a weak flavor but the mouthfeel and subtle flavor are pretty good. Definately one I use when I want something subtle. I would rate viking 8.5/10! Really happy with it now. Sorry for the n00bness of my first posts. I guess I didnt give them enough time to really come out in the flavor department and felt screwed. I will defiantely be ordering again from the vikings

I order from them all the time now and all at 100% VG 24mg, double flavor. Have tried a lot of flavors (over 10 so far..will have to sit down and do a review of all of them when I have the time) and all have been great and do get better as they age. Only ones I have had to really let sit is their Strawberry Cheesecake (was a little weak flavored but after a few days really yummy)and Peaches and Cream (which is still steeping from last week, tried it last night and it is almost there, not weak flavored, just needs to blend a little more I think if that makes sense).

I will have to try the RY4, I have tried mostly sweet flavors.

Their flavors all have been great and customer service is great too. Shipped within 2 days of ordering on all my orders.

Yeh the RY4 is quite sweet. Its like a more cigarlike tobacco or like a virginia flue cured or something, mixed with caramel, chocolate, butter. Thats what I get from it. Its really really good. Definately my favorite from them. Ill be getting all my RY4 from them now. Its really nothing like traditional RY4, which some people dont like but I love it. Yeah the red bull is kinda weak. It doesnt really even taste like red bull, more of like a bubble gum flavor. I guess that is kinda what red bull tastes like, but I guess its just too weak to get a "wow this tastes like red bull!" feeling from it. Ill get the Dekang Red Bull instead but thats the only one I had any "problems" with.

Glad I saw this before I ordered. Don’t see Viking Vapor mentioned here much, and very glad to talk to someone else who orders from them, especially VG like me. Most of the time I don’t want a big throat hit I have found and when I need one and the cravings come calling, I have been vaping a tobacco flavor from another vendor that is a PG/VG mix . Only other vendor I will order from now other than Viking Vapor and only time I seem to really enjoy or need a mix like that.

Am also trying their Bubblegum, Pina Colada and Egg Nog as new flavors in this order. Stocking up on their Caramel and Banana Cream flavors, both 1st tries from previous orders and very good, both get better with age too.

It being understood that taste is subjective and me not looking for much in a throat hit, here’s some that I have tried from them, all VG 24 mg and double flavor. Have used my 510 and Ego with them (they all taste the same with either model):

Caramel is not too sweet and to me anyway, does have a bit of a coffee flavor undertone. Nice and sweet and is even better as it ages. – Flavor: 9/10 TH 5/10 Vapor 9/10

Banana Cream is a really strong flavor. Does have a bit of a throat hit at first and does get softer after a couple of days, or maybe I just got used to it. Does taste a bit on the sweet side, like a banana candy. Flavor: 10/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 9/10


Trying my Peaches and Cream after letting it sit for 8 days this morning again...very nice, it has come together. Does seem to have a bit of a throat hit much like the Banana Cream now. Not an all day vape maybe but definitely a nice switch once in a while. Flavor: 8.5/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 9/10

My standbys from Viking Vapor so far are the Blueberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Pralines and Cream, and Crumb Cake. Switch a couple of these flavors around with other flavors everyday. All of these can be an all day vape for me however.

The cheesecake flavors taste more like cream with the fruit flavors than cheesecake, but not over sweet and a lot of flavor and vapor. The blueberry and strawberry are very true and are I think my favorites of all. Flavor: 10/10 TH 6/10 Vapor 10/10


The Crumb Cake has a nice little spicey-cinnamony cake flavor and you get some sweetness at the end, very much like a coffee cake. Flavor: 10/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 10/10


Pralines and Cream is a nutty slightly sweet flavor that, to me anyway, does need to age a couple of days to reach its full potential, but is good right out of the box, just gets better. Flavor: 9/10 TH 6/10 Vapor 10/10


Have also tried their Apple Pie (very appley flavor) and a nice clean tasting vape, Don't taste much cinnamon but my daughter says she can taste it. A nice switch from a heavy or spicy flavor. Flavor: 9/10 TH 5/10 Vapor 9/10


French Toast is excellent too, started out a bit mapley syrup tasting but after a week or so it is definitely blended and you can taste more complex flavors and imagine the toast. Flavor: 9/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 9/10


Lemon Lime Cola is very flavorful and citrusy, just found out I really have to be in the mood for it. Must have been in that mood when I ordered it. Sure I will be in the mood for it again. Just waiting. Flavor: 8/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 9/10


Raspberry Italian Cream Soda was not a favorite of mine, but I think much like cherry flavors I have tried from Viking Vapor and other vendors, the raspberry flavoring used are just not to my personal taste ( I do love cherry but alas) . Am letting this sit for a while and will revisit it someday. It is a strong flavor though, so if you do like it the taste I can see it being a favorite. Flavor: 7/10 TH 6/10 Vapor 8/10


Kahlua and Cream is a heavier flavor and very nutty. have been letting this sit too. Ordered it the same time I got the Pralines and Cream and enjoyed the lighter taste of Pralines and Cream so I put this to the side. Will have to revisit this one soon. Flavor: 10/10 TH 7/10 Vapor 9/10


I know…a lot of flavors, but the small bottles there are so inexpensive even with double flavor I have been able to try a lot of flavors and not totally deplete my bank account.

Hope there are others here who have tried some flavors from them who will post.

Will update this with my new flavor tries from my order this morning next week.

Got the RY4 and must say I am a bit disappointed. A very "perfumy" liquid and even after steeping a couple of weeks just can't get past that, it is very unpleasant to me. Not a usual thing with this vendor, although I did have the same issue with the pina colada flavor I ordered in this order.

To be fair,might be because I doubled the flavor since I prefer 100% VG and taste is extremely subjective. But I will not order those flavors again because the perfume taste killed any desire for them for now. Have heard some good things about BWB RY4 so I may try that flavor from BWB when my tastebuds get brave enough.

Did order their Bubble Gum flavor too and it is not perfumy but double the flavor is too harsh and I am suprised to be saying this because it seems I am always looking for more flavor. This is a very strong flavor and even at 100% VG does not need to be doubled. I did like the flavor though (tasted like real bubble gum) and have re-ordered it at regular strength to see how that is. This has the possibility of being a great juice for me at regular strength, and probably would be good for those who really like a big bold flavor.

At double flavor Flavor: 10+/10 TH 10+/10 Vapor 10/10

Forgot to say I am using an Ego with these and they are at 24mg nicotine.

Did order along with the single flavor bubble gum, a butter rum sample and strawberry banana both double strength and 24 mg. Will update when I get those hopefully before the New Year.
