Hello all,

My first post on ECF - I'm extremely happy to be here and have jumped into the e-cig world with both feet! I quit smoking on 10-10-13 and I'm already beginning to feel the effects of dropping the analogs! WOO-HOO!

I went big with my equipment - I have the joyetech eVic with the upgraded 3400mAH battery, a ProTank -II (using the 1.9ohm atomizer to start) and enough e-juice (24mg to start) to get me well on my way.

I must say (and I've tried 10 times at least to quit smoking) this has been the easiest attempt at quitting smoking I've experienced. While there has been a very few moments of urge, overall it's been a very comfortable experience! I do wish, however, I'd get more vapor with the eVic - I'm very certain once I further get used to its' use, it'll be all good.

I'm in VW mode drawing anywhere between 5.0w and 6.0w (I know nothing about the electronics, so I'm sure these are conservative settings based on what I've read thus far).

I'm glad to join this wide world and look forward to hanging out!

Hello and Welcome to ECF
CONGRATS on making the switch. This forum is a great place to learn about Vaping. Many friendly people will help You with any questions You may have, answering on based on their experiences, knowledge and give You there opinions based on such.
I too have an eVic and use it in VW mode. I use mine anywhere between 5 and 10.5 watts depending on the resistance (ohms) of the atty I am using and the juice in he tank just play around with the settings until it vapes the way You want it to. Here is a chart to maybe help You understand wattage/voltage/ohms.
wattage/voltage Chart

Although You will need 5 posts here in the new members section and wait for the server to update (25 minutes past the hour) before You can post, You can start browsing the section here at ECF dedicated to the eVic eVic

You may not be getting the amount of vapor You want due to the settings on Your eVic or possibly the PG/VG ratio in Your juice, VG produces more vapor, but You may lose some throat hit and a little flavor, I use a 50/50 mix and I'm very happy with both flavor and vapor

So look around, and ask any questions You may have.

Enjoy Your Vape

MoonLit,

Fantastic information, and I appreciate you taking the time to do so. As with anything, I recognize there is a learning curve; I'm no Doctor, and sometimes have no patience!

I will definitely review the chart you attached - I'm currently using the 1.9ohm atty that came with the PT-II; guess I'm more nervous than anything going above 6watts. I'll keep tweaking and see if I can find a balance. Thanks again for the information!

Congratulations on quitting!!! I also tried to quit many many times before I started vaping. Since the day I started vaping I never picked up another cigarette again! (I was a pack and a half a day Marlboro Red smoker) Isn't it awesome how easy the transition is?? Anyway I wanted to also add something about your comment about wanting more vapor production. Voltage and wattage obviously play a part in how much vapor is produced but don't forget to take into consideration the juice you are using. The higher the VG the more vapor you will get. The throat hit will not be as strong with a higher VG juice but at your nic level (24?) you should still get adequate throat hit. I personally like a higher VG blend because I like a milder throat hit and I love tons of vapor. A higher PG juice will give you a more intense throat hit but with less vapor production. I hope this helps a little!
Good Luck and welcome!!!

Hello Amberina,

Again, excellent information - I think I'm going to run to my local vape store and definitely try the higher VG juice. I think (based on my first few days) you are right - the 24mg nic level is def providing the adequate throat hit, I'd just prefer more vapor (mental thing, I'm sure - but during this initial feigning period, every little bit helps!). I'm blown away by how easy it's been since Thursday not picking up a single analog! I'm hooked for sure!
