Hi,

I recently purchased Vision Ego Stardust's from gotvapes.com - VISION eGo Clearomizer Stardust™ : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

What caught my attentions right away was the following. It came in the box. Every carto was sealed in plastic. However, after opening it and pulling the stardust out, I have noticed something strange. When you unscrew and pull the mouthpiece out, its wet. It does not appear to smell like some kind of oil/machine liquid from the factory, but it seemed to smell like e-juice (tobacco flavor maybe....although:vapor: I am not sure what the heck is that smell..I surely did not expect it to have any smell sealed and out of the box, but surely did not expect it to be wet!!!). I thought strange! This is supposed to be completely new carto, sealed. Everything else seemed dry in the tube including the wicks. Ok, that was strange, so I wiped it clean (did not wash it though). I thought the second Stardust out of the box would not have that "problem". Well, to my surprise, the 2nd stardust also had a wet mouth piece and smelled the same way. Did anybody else experience that?? Am I getting used cartos masqueraded as brand new in sealed condition? Or is it simply that at the factory they test them out with e-juice and some residual amount of liquid stays in it? I do not think it is a primer liquid..smelled like e-juice.

Thanks.

I noticed the 'wet' also. Ergo, I use a PG flush and dry burn 'em before use... no issues thus far. Better safe than sorry. The ol' atties taught me da hard way!

I have one still in the wrapper so I am looking.

Yes the tip is wet, its just a lubricant to keep the tip from becoming stuck from the carto sitting on the shelf for who knows how long. Everything else is dry. So I would say the tips are wet as the result of good thinking.

BTW, they are only $5.50 at ENS

That makes sense. If its the lube than it just smells like e-juice :) anyway...I think that's a good explanation, thanks. Would you still rinse/wash/dry burn those just in case

Nope. It's 555 tobacco flavored ejuice. Whether it has nic in it or not is anyone's guess. I think it's complete bull$#!+. If I was a 0 nic user and I found out I was getting nic'd by priming fluid I would be upset in the extreme.

I ordered 4 from Altsmoke and complained about that, accused them of sending me used ones, and they eventually (about a week later) sent me 4 new ones free of charge. You should do the same. BTW: that juice is so strong that cleaning them will make little difference. In case you don't know how to clean them let me do a quick crash course. Wash them out and shake them like a thermometer with hot water in them a few times, dry burn them til the coil glows red inside for a few seconds, and then dry burn it for a few seconds about 4-5 more times after it started glowing the first time. I recommend you always clean them before you use them the first time to avoid factory chemicals and funky tastes and this is how it's done, that is, unless you got one of the new rebuildable ones. Then you bust the hairdryer out on it to dry it out by covering the hole half up with the tip of the hair dryer to create a wind tunnel and then spin it every 5 seconds til it's dry.

The only way to be rid of that terrible flavor though it is to break it in and run a couple tanks through it, clean it again, and then maybe after the third time it'll be ok. I just opened another one of those a couple days ago, cleaned and dry burned it, put in my peanut butter juice and I'm vaping basically 555 peanut butter right now. I DIY to avoid vaping a taste of China. Stardusts are crappy. Vision Vivi Novas, although ugly as sin, are the way of the future.
