I have a cheapo top coil tank that I believe is a Vision but it doesn't hold too much but hits really good. I've noticed the iClear and Vision top coil tanks and I think that's gonna be my next one but which is better?? Is it a matter of preference?? What's a good online vendor just in case my local shop doesn't carry them?? Thanks peeps!!

Tanks are ALWAYS a matter of personal preference. That said, the iClear has FANTASTIC reviews, and I don't think you would make a bad choice giving it a try. I'm not a fan of the Visions ... at least not the Vivi Novas, too many problems with leaking and such ... but that is just my opinion. As always, YMMV!

Personally, I like bottom coils, and if you are open to trying them, give the PT2 (or PT3) a shot.

HTH!

I have a Protank 2 and a mini. Also a T3S but of course, it can never be enough lol

When I was vaping clearos exclusively, I tried many. Including the vision and innokin lineups. I prefered the innokin iclear lineup of the iclear16 and the iclear30.

They seemed much more consistent in the head quality as well as the vape compared to the vision clearos.

I have moved on for the most part to carto tanks, but that was my experience a couple of months ago with clearos.

I the last several months I've tried Kanger Evod and Protank (1 & 2), iClear 16 & 30, and Vision Vivi Nova.

Best overall is the iClear 30. The best flavor and vapor production. Dual coils. 16 wicks. 3 ml juice capacity. Moveable mouthpiece. Easy top fill.

Hopefully my local shop will have some. Stopping by in a few hours after work. Thanks for the responses!!!

I have to advise against getting an iClear 30
I've seen several posts about bad taste when they're new. I figured it was just factory oil.
While dry burning mine, I noticed smoke coming from below the coils.
I disassembled the head and found that there's plastic on the coil where the resistance wire meets the non-resistance wire.
I've been vaping PLASTIC.

You can see there's not much left of the plastic from the top coil (bottom right), because it was burnt away by the lower coil.

I just looked at a replaced coil head from an iClear 30 that I had been using for 2 months. The plastic on mine were not burnt like yours. Perhaps you are dry burning for too long of pulses or at too high of a voltage. I've never had any burnt taste from any of my four iClear 30's.

what voltage are you vaping at?

Usually 8W. I bumped it up to 10W when I was drinking. I'd tried it at 12W briefly when I first got it, but still, that's only 6W per coil (5V, 2.1 ohms, new SVD, single 18650, 70%PG)

I would think I did that dry burning too, and some of it may be, except that it had a bad taste from the start, even after rinsing it with hot water. The taste got better after several days use but still had a slight burnt smell that lingered in the air after using it even though I couldn't taste it anymore.

Here's an iClear 16 head. I don't have another 30 head but As far as I can tell, they're the same except for the wicks.

iClear 16_cropped_red.jpg

One of the top coil plastic pieces is actually touching the bottom coil. The other is only 1/2mm away judging by the wick slot in the head which is 1.5mm. I looked at another head and it's about the same.
I've thought before that fasttech may sell brand rejects that don't pass inspection but are still functional, but using plastic anywhere near the coil is unacceptable to me, might as well be smoking.

I was able to push the plastic down a little with a needle to get it away from the coil, but I still don't think I'll be using my new iClear 30 or three iClear 16's unless I can rebuild the heads myself or at least remove the plastic, which I expect to be difficult.
