I read something that said I should be using a charger that's 500mah or higher with this battery. I've been using a 420mA charger for over a month now. Can someone guide me to where I can read about e-cig battery life, maintaining the battery and whether or not it's a bad idea to be pulling the battery off the charger before the charge is full as well as throwing it on before the battery is dead?

Your charger should be fine it will just charge a little slower. You can pull it early if you need it and you can put it on the charger at any time. These batteries like to kept at a nearly full state of charge for optimum battery life so charging early is actually better for it.

The charger that came with it is the one to use. That's the little block on a USB cord, right? What that plugs into needs to be rated 500 mA or more. While a computer USB2 port is specified as that, at least, I've always been reluctant to plug a $5 charger into my considerably more costly computer. Many do without problem, but I believe Murphy was an optimist.
I use a 4-port wall adapter, gives me 4 USB ports from a wall outlet. The one I got is rated at 2 amps (2000 mA), so I can charge more than one at a time. Each charger plugged into it is able to draw the power it needs. Some of my eGo style chargers are rated at 420 mA output, and some at 450. Haven't seen one that's rated at 500.

Thanks for the information, I have another battery that I purchased when I first switched and it didn't do it for me. It's an EVOD or that's what it says on the battery. I didn't know much, bought it at a stand in a mall when I was in Texas. Anyway, I use the charger for that on the vision spinner 2 because at a smoke shop where I live now, Arizona, the owner asked if I needed a charger when I had purchased the spinner two and a nautilus tank and I told him I already had one.
I don't shop there anymore or at any local shops because that guy charged me $17-18 for 5 kangertech 2.2 ohm coils when I bought em at an online store at 1/3 the price. Guy always seemed sketchy anyway.
At this time I'm actually just throwing the usb into my DAS keyboard with usb outlets built into the side. I really need to get another battery so I can switch because the EVOD I have is totally broke, err not pulling at all anymore.
Not "pulling"? As in not heating the coil when firing?
If that's the case, the center (positive) pin in the battery may have gotten pushed in a bit from over-tightening the topper. Happens. Our "training" is that electrical connections should be tight. In vape-land, snug is the goal.
But if that's it, probably an easy fix. Turn the battery off - typically 5 clicks. Then, using a straightened paper clip, tiny screwdriver, or similar, "rock" the center pin gently from all around its side. You're looking to nudge that pin up just a tiny bit.
It's also possible - and from the same cause - that the mating pin in the topper has been pushed into the topper a bit. You can try pulling it out a TINY amount with small tweezers or, if the tank is empty and you can take the coil out, just pinch it at the base between the bottom pin and the bottom soft insulator.
And yes, backups are important! Good to have at least two of everything - including chargers
(And yes, B&Ms are generally more than on-line. Some of that's to be expected, as they have higher overhead. If they're reasonably close, I like to support my local business. The one you mentioned isn't!)

My recomendo for any beginning vapor is the innokin vv3 (~$26desertvapes ) or the innokin MVP (~$35 Vape101 )
It's a process, you'll get it. You already made the best decision in vapeing, you joined ECF! Spend some time reading in the beginners section and you will catch on quick (just hide your credit card

I also would prefer to patronize my local B&M and don't mind paying retail but when they jack the price up betewwn 50 & 75% that's where I have a problem.

Really appreciate the advice. I'll be giving this a shot right away and coming back to post results.
So I gave it a try prying up slightly without too much force on the pin in the battery for the EVOD, didn't seem to fix the problem. I believe there may be another issue and while I won't give up, I'm actually looking to get another battery in the meantime as a backup for the primary vision spinner 2. Does anyone have any recommendations. I've been using kangertech 1.8,2.2,2.5 coils with these small plastic tanks I bought at the local B&M.
In that shape, I prefer the Vision Spinner to the Twist, easier to read the numbers. The previously mentioned Innokin VV3 is a good performer, although a bit on the small side (only 800 mAh but you get VV/VW, ohm check, voltage remaining. Spinners and such are mostly VV only, and generally without all the other features, but they've been upping the rating on them, so 1600 and higher is possible. And, of course, the higher the mAh rating of the battery, the longer you can vape before needing to recharge. (And be aware there's a VV4 coming "real soon now" that will come in three mAh sizes. Prices unknown atm.)
Much appreciated, I was looking into that Innokin VV3. I really do like the display offered and wouldn't mind something with a square body. How long do you think until the VV4 will be coming out? The price of the VV3 looked better than the vision spinner v2 so I think it'll be the way I go.

But it should be out in the near future, since Innokin is busy pushing back against the IStick with their new MVP 20 watt model and new MVP3 as well. But the sites that sell are still saying "soon."
