I broke the spinner off my Vision Spinner II (1600 Mah) while backpacking in New Mexico. It still works great on the voltage I had it on, but I can't change the voltage any more. So, I was going to order another one UNTIL I saw the Aspire Spinners - it got me wondering whether there's any real difference? Is one considered "better" than the other? I know it's all personal preference but I'm curious whether there's some practical difference that would warrant giving the Aspire a try, over the Vision?

The Aspire CF VV is a LOT harder to find, that's for sure!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Side note: For some reason, whatever tank I put on my Vision Spinner II tastes better than the same tank on my MVP 2.0 - What the heck? I feel crazy for saying it, but it really does make a difference and I can't explain it. Is there any reason for this or am I, in fact, losing it? LOL!

I have both the 1650 Spinner 2 and Aspire CF VV.
- Looks. Vision looks better, nicer feel and isn't shiny like the Aspire.
- Battery. Neither last the day at full voltage. Aspire "might" last a bit longer than the Vision. Always have a spare charged.
- Drop-off. Vision has a drop-off comparing white to blue battery stage. Aspire doesn't have this drop-off until orange.
- Nearing death. Vision blue to orange is about the same. Aspire very quickly drops when you hit the orange stage.
- Size. Aspire is just barely longer. Same width and weight.
- Button. Aspire is in the neck so no accidental push while in a pocket. But it's also harder to intuitively find the button.
- VV dial. Aspire doesn't click so you can accidentally change. But I run both at full voltage and haven't had an issue since the button is turned to an extreme.
- Battery pin. I like the Aspire. Just tighten my Nautilus until it seats. The adjustable pin never tightens on the charger since it moves so watch the charge light.
- Price. From a trusted online store with OEM packaging. Aspire was $24 and Vision was $30. Deals change daily so this is just my point in time price.
- Tank. I run a Nautilus mini 1.8ohm and no difference.
- Flavor. No difference with my Nautilus mini.

If one died today, I can't say I'd chose one over the other. I own 2 Visions and 2 Aspires with the paired versions acting the same so I don't believe mine have any one-off flaws. Vision is more predictable of when the battery is about to die versus the Aspire having a very drastic drop-off when you hit orange. But the Aspire has a constant hit until that point which is very important. Looks and button position go to Vision. VV dial design goes to Vision.

While the above list sounds like Vision has more pros, the real benefit of the Aspire in my opinion is a strong consistent voltage while in use. Without that one factor I would say Vision wins hands down. The Aspire will almost leave you stranded when you hit orange though.

I don't think you're losing it. I can swap an RDA between three different mods and get three different levels of flavor. Kinda like when I build my Kayfun and my Patriot at the same ohm and the Kayfun seems to have a sweeter taste than the dripper. I'm always amazed at what seemingly insignificant changes can do to flavor. As for the batteries I really can't say. I know Aspire makes some good stuff but I never tried their batteries. I do know that I keep two Vision Spinner II's handy and like them both because of the "click" setting. It doesn't get moved around in my pocket. Does the Aspire spinner have that click into position feature or just a twist like the original Vision Spinner? That would be an issue to me. :2c:

The Aspire does not have the same click positioning. I'll admit, you'll never accidentally change the voltage on a Spinner 2. The Aspire's VV dial feels a little rough when you adjust it so there is some tension to prevent the dial from moving easily but it can be accidentally moved. I leave mine cranked all the way to 4.8v and it hasn't been accidentally moved. But at somewhere between 7.5" - 8" long with an Aspire Nautilus mini, it's not the most convenient device to carry in jeans. So carrying around in some Dockers, jacket, front pocket, car console, between my legs in the car or constantly laid down on the table hasn't accidentally changed the voltage.

I've never owned the original Spinner but I have owned a Volt 808 VV spinner. Accidental changes to the VV dial on the Volt was a constant issue. I'm sure some people will have an issue with the Aspire VV dial. I have more of an issue finding the power button since it sets more flush on the neck.

I got both too. I started with Vision and insisted cause I do like them. My black Spinner 2 is dedicated to my favourite flavour.
However I might say that the aspire 1600 is a gem. Lasts longer and keeps voltage in place. It's true that if the Orange light comes then it's just about flat but I still prefer the aspire so I ordered one in each color and I simply leave 2 of them fully charged for my day out (work or play).
I have,

2 vision spinners 1300
2 vision spinners 1600
4 aspire 1600
1 kanger evod 1600
1 aspire subohm 2000
1 tesla sidewinder II 2000

Out of all the aspire 1600s are the ones I prefer.

The button is an issue yes but I added a small sticker gem from my daughter's craft and it brought back the missing "feel".

The twist is no issue with the aspire for me and I run all my batteries at 3.8v.
I have decided that from now on all me batteries will be aspires. The carbon fibre body stays like new for ever!
