I just bought this thing a month ago. Seriously, it's green on the charger and it won't power up for the second time. first time, i was able to leave it on the charger for a day, and finally it powered up. now nothing. at all. so frustrated. i paid more for that than any of my other batteries, my vv3 included and it stinks. sorry. just had to rant. thanks for listening.

Won't power up at all?

I'm guessing "green on the charger" means the charger light is green, and the battery light is off?

Does the fire button light when pressed with NO topper on? If so, it might be a shorted coil in your topper, or you're attaching it too tightly and compressing the grommet under the battery center pin, creating a short...

Or it could just be a lemon, it does happen...

So, if I understand correctly, with no topper, there's no light when you press the fire button.

I'm sure you've tried the 5 click more than once, since it's the same operation to turn it off and on... My Spinners, all "old", will blink 3 times after that, sort of verifying that it "saw" the command presses. I don't know if the newer ones do that, but can't see why they'd change it.

Maybe check the connection end to make sure nothing is shorted there? A short should make it turn off to prevent damage. A badly depressed pin or damaged O-ring there could do that.

Or maybe just contact your vendor to see about replacing it under warranty?

Good luck.

Spinners need a different charger pigtail than other EGO types. They need the EGO-T charger, not the 510 charger, though they look identical. You may have the correct one and have a dud Spinner, but a different pigtail is something to look into. Also, the pigtails are notoriously hit-or-miss on quality. Good thing they're cheap.

Yeah I have noticed when I charge my spinner sometimes it acts like it is fully charged and I know it is not. I would use one all day and it acted like it only need to charge for 5 minutes. To fix it I would unscrew the spinner and and re attach it to the charger but not all the way. This would fix this problem most of the time and charge my battery correctly. Hope this helps.

Oh, pulling up the pin worked! Thanks. That darn pin pushes down every time

Glad that worked! Some clearos are a bit longer on the positive pin connection, and can do that. Don't overtighten, since it's not like wrenching on anything :)

If you feel ambitious, get a #60 (sometimes called 260) O-ring and replace the original on the battery with that. May help prevent the problem from recurring. (That's the "standard" fix for a lot of Vamos... and I suspect the Spinners are the same size pin.)
