Viva Nova vs. Cartomizer Tanks

I am in love with my Mini Viva Nova but I'm taking the time to learn about Cartomizer tanks.

What is the difference in vaping experience between a Nova and a Cartomizer tank?

Why would one choose a Cartomizer Tank over a Nova?

Is a Cartomizer Tank worth trying out or should I just stay with the Nova?

Depends on several factors. IMO I think the most important is your juice. Those using higher pg blends arent going notice much if any difference in flavor between a ViVi Nova and a carto tank.

Its been my experience that thicker VG juices dont wick well in any clearomizer due to the nature of its construction and at its heart thats what a ViVi Nova is. That being said, for people who use thicker juice blends at lower voltages (a cooler vape) the difference in flavor can be amazing!!!

If you do get into carto tanks Id highly recommend pyrex.Not only does it have a cleaner taste but you wont have to worry about certain juices cracking or discoloring your tanks or the plastic from those tanks leeching into your juice.This includes plastic, pmma and with certain juices even "resistant" plastic like polypropylene.

I enjoyed my vivi nova for a while but some replacement wicks I got were bad and it leaked all the time. Then I ordered a triple v sidewinder cartomizer tank from valley view vapes and fell in love. I ordered mine with the caps instead of grommets and it is so easy to use. I use 3 ohm cartomizers and punch them myself with a saddle valve I got at Lowes for 5$ and fill the carts using the condom method(YouTube it) I like the sidewinder tank because the plug allows you to fill it very clean and simple.

Thanks for the advice and the recommendation.

I started out vaping with 100% PG, then switched to 100% VG, and now I've found I'm quite happy with a 50/50 blend. So we will see where it goes.

I think they are worth trying out. I have both and its a tough call. My carto tanks, when they flood.. ugh! And the draw is tighter than the mini-nova.
I get big plumes of vapor on my Novas

Rebuildable heads vs replacing cartos. The Novas seem to require more maintenance. Clean and dry burn every couple of refills. Carto tanks, when they are working well are less hassle. Just keep refilling and vaping until they don't work well anymore. I dunno, I've got more juice on me handling carto tanks than I ever did messing with Vivi Novas. Keep the paper towels handy.

I'm sure there will be opinions abound on this.

Minus the leaking issues you were having with the Nova, what did you love about the Triple V Sidewinder tank experience that you weren't getting out of the Nova? Was the flavor better? What about the throat hit? Also how was the vapor production?

I prefer cartomizers and carto/tanks over the vivi, myself. To me, the vivi mutes the flavor too much on most juices.

I feel like my vivi contained the flavor while my tank released it! They both produced plumes of vapor. I feel like my standard resistance cart handles higher voltage much better than the nova did. Which gives me a better th but that also has to do with the liquid you pick. I like that I can put any liquid in the tank because it is Pyrex.

I also have a splitfire tank I got from Rick at vaporalley. Its similar to the vivi but it has never leaked on me. It has a seperate chamber for the liquid and coil. It has interchangeable heads like the vivi. It gives decent vapor and throat but I still prefer my triple v

Sorry for posting this in the wrong thread.

I ended up taking a trip down to my local vape store and bought a Smoketech DCT tank. The difference is night and day compared to the Viva Nova. I still love my Viva Nova but I can already tell that the Smoketech has a much better flavor however the throat hit isn't as great as to what I'm used to.

I now can see the potential of DCT's but I don't think it will replace my Viva Nova as my go to tank. I am interested in checking out the Triple Sidewinder as well as the Splitfire tank.

So many options to play with!
