Vivi Nova burn marks

Hi

First time cleaning my Vivi Nova Mini.

I took it apart rinsed it in hot water, and when I went to reassemble it, I noticed that the wick has burn marks where it sat in the coil. I was wondering if this was normal, or did I somehow burn it?

Using an eGo-C battery with a 1.8ohm head. Pic attached.

The wicks are made from silica or something similar and won't burn (at least not at the temps we use). What you are seeing is probably just a stain from carbonized juice. You can probably get rid of most of that with a dry burn.

If you have a pencil-flame torch, use it to burn and clean your wicks. Starting at the wick end, heat the wicks until they glow red hot. Slowly heat the wick up to the metal portion. Then do the same to the wicks on the other side. Makes them look just like brand new. Be sure to use a propane torch, though; a cigarette lighter will not get them hot enough and will actually turn the wicks black from carbon in the cooler flame.
