Vivi Nova Burnt Taste Won't Go Away

Just got my Vivi Nova today. Put in the the 2.8ohm CE2 & filled with V4L Watermelon. It has not stopped tasting like burning poo. I took the loose middle wick off the coil. Didn't Help! What is up? I've tried running it from 4 to 5V on my Buzz.

What can I do?

Check the gotvapes forum.....there is a lot of discussion there. There is a problem with the initial heads....they are redoing them at the factory, and new heads coming. Mine did not have the problem.....have only tried one head so far, but it is working well.

Just got mine yesterday, started with the 2.4 ohm let it soak and started vaping at 3.7. I figure it would break it in at 3.7 before moving up in voltage to 4-5 volts. So the vivi nova is performing awesome, clean flavor and mind you, my standard tank w/ or boge cartos tasted great for about 1-3 days then lose flavor and performance. Very few that I have run through last more than a week. Day 2 the flavor is still great with very pull..still need to determine for how long it will last and how to tweak these things to get the best life and taste out of them.

Well, I ordered a 2.8ohm extra CE2 & it does the same thing. Tried the 2.4ohm and same thing. It just tastes like burning filler material from a cartomizer. Just BURNT. I have not got one single hit off this thing. I really want it to work because it is a MUCH better concept than my Piece of Crap Leaky Map Tank that you could pry the CE2 out of with the Jaws of life...

There were some kind of funky heads that shipped with the first round of VNs. Or....some of them had a primer liquid that tasted nasty....cleaning takes care of that. Got Vapes has the new, redesigned heads coming in....

I've used only 1 head (2.4) with mine so far, and it is working great. I fluffed the wicks (unbraided them), and cleaned everything well before I fired it up.

here is hat i did to make it taste better.

i rebuilt the wick with kanthal wire and new wick. the very small area that the wire will wrap the wick with a rolled small piece of mesh ss400 around before wrapping the wire.

make sure the mesh doesnt touch any metal besides the wire.

seems to get a cleaner taste.

DAMNIT! This is so Frustrating. I ordered these from Electronicstix, & ALL 4 heads have tasted like burning POO! I even tried unwrapping it and wrapping it with the wire that came from my Maptank CE2, still no go, just burnt, burning, fire, nasty crap! I really want this thing to work, and out of 4 heads, one of them should work at least once!

I've only tried one atty head on my Vivi Nova so far and it seems to be working pretty well. It does'nt wick very fast, but then again it does'nt allow too much juice in either,so I can actually lay my pv down and it wo'nt flood. I've seen some complaints of the coils not heating up properly, probably due to poor workmanship at the factory. Have you checked your coils when they were dry to see if they were heating up correctly? They could be shorted, though seems odd it would be all Four of them.

Ive had my vivi nova for about two days and I'm getting a weird taste out of it. I would not say burnt exactly but definitely a weird taste. I'm hoping it will go away after a couple of tank refills. Do these things require a break in period?

I got mine at gotvapes. I guess a lot of people are finding that the gaskets seperating the pos and neg are burnt, that certainly might taste something like foam on fire.

I don't think it's the Gasket. It's identical to a cartomizer that has lost all of the juice and you take one more hit. The Vivi tastes that way from the get go!

They will be getting the new heads in soon. If you bought it from them, you will get a reduced price until they are gone. Mine has been fine, by the way...no burnt taste at all. Did you clean it before using it? Some of the originals had a nasty tasting primer in them.

I'm getting a feeling of fiberglass in my lungs (Horrific). The flavor isn't too bad, though. But that throat hit is wretched and painful, and I absolutely love and crave a good throat hit. Not impressed so far, but I bought it for modding purposes.

Just got mine yesterday- I loaded it with bobas for the first time with the initial 2.4ohm head- nasty taste just like you describe. AARRRGGG its always something, cant crap just work right? do they not test any of this crap before they unload it onto people.

I bought 3 stardusts for my ego- sofar 2 of them worked great for a day but now dryhit everytime nomatter what i do, now this... i got a phoenix tank yesterday- scared it will just be crap too

Mine had the same issues of yours..took a fluxo coil and wick out of an old unused fluxo i had lying around..wires and all..cleaned the insulation off the wires and also kept the little black gasket from the fluxo..put the wick and coil into the atty of the vivi and also swapped in the fluxo gasket and all the problems i had with the unit are gone...no nasty taste..great flavor..lots of vapor...just working like a beast.

saw some little shorty cartos on a site i order from sometimes..been thinking maybe they will work on this..gotta do some measurements and maybe ill give it a shot

supposed to be some more options coming out for different atomizer types to put into the nova since its got a 510 connection inside..wouldnt be surprised to see a shorty carto coming out pre punched specifically for that.
