Hi,

I have been using the Vision Vivi Nova for over a year with my standard 650 mah ego battery. They have always been reliable. One of them stopped working so I ordered another one to replace it. I opened it up, filled it, let it sit overnight. The next day after a few draws I was getting the dreaded burnt flavor. In the past, this was not an issue unless I tried to vape too soon after filling it and even so, I was almost always able to still use the coil if I let it sit for a little while. I contacted the store that I bought it from and they gave me a few suggestions like shaking the tank (which caused it to leak btw) and moving the liquid around. Basically they told me that it was not getting enough liquid. I went with it and changed the coil and it ended up doing the same thing. After a couple of weeks of putting up with this, the burnt experience has diminished a tiny bit but is still there. I can get a few draws off of it each time, but I used to be able to chain-vape with these...

I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently. Is it possible that I got a bad batch of coils? Is there something wrong with my tank? I don't exactly want to spend more money on more coils that are going to do the same thing and the store I bought it from doesn't seem willing to do anything for me. Does anyone have some insight on this dilemma?

Wow.
Bummer.

Your guess of a bad batch of coils is probably a good one. But there may be some things we can do to futz with it.

First off...make sure that the little silicone cap thing that goes on top of the coil is positioned correctly. There's a metal washer inside it. It needs to have the flat side of that metal washer facing DOWN toward the coil. The top side looks kinda like a funnel where juice would drip down if it needed to.

Also, make sure you don't screw the top on too tightly such that the silicone washer pinches the wicks. People have gone to the effort of trimming a fraction off the bottom of the silicone sleeve to allow for more wick room. Trim too much and it will leak.

Also, maybe thin the juice a bit. What PG/VG is your juice????????

Good suggestions, I may try to cut the silicone part a little. The washer is facing the correct direction. I actually wondered if perhaps there was an issue because my old vivi nova tank had the metal tube and this one is plastic, but i don't see how that would make a difference... Yeah I considered that the juice may be too thick. it is a 50/50 blend-- though i have been using the same liquid from the same vendor for quite a while and didn't have a problem before. Perhaps they thickened it up a little bit? I also used to use thicker juice and still didn't have this bad of a problem... :/ Maybe it was a bad batch (they came with the tank, so maybe they put lower quality coils in with it [sigh]. who knows.

What ohm coil did you get? Is it the same as what you were using previously? Were the wicks the same length? I have found that the shorty wicks ones tend to burn much quicker due to less ability to wick.

It is a 1.8, but the one I had before this one was a 2.4. i have used both of these ohms before and had not had issues before with them... As far as i can tell the wicks are the same length.
