Does anyone else have issues with vivi nova coils? Like getting a too-high of a reading for their ohms when their fresh out the box. I'm hearing it's the pin issue that taps the top of the connector in the tank. Does anyone know if the little pin in the coil can be tinkered with to work, or if they have to be thrown out?

if you look down in the part where you screw the head onto the shaft of the tank, you will see a little spikey pin, that is supposed to touch the connector pole in the middle of the tank.

Turns out that the center pin is sometimes not seated properly in the new heads.

I've had the same issue occur with Vivi heads -- get ohm readings that in the 7+ range when I first take them out of the packaging. Turns out that the center pin is sometimes not seated properly in the new heads.

that's a quote from someone experiencing the same thing, my question is, is there a way to fiddle with the pin to get it to work properly, or is the only thing to do discard it?

That's not a real Vivi Nova. They don't have the pin you describe.

it's a real vivi nova. came in a real vivi nova box. even has vivi nova written on the tube of the tank. and as you know, in vivi nova kits, it includes it's own 2 spare heads.

I didn't just buy spare heads, I bought vivi nova tanks. & My vendor is very trusted.

I am betting that you have the SmokTech "Vivi Nova" they stole the name along with the design. The REAL Vivi Nova is from Vision.

The way you can tell is the heads. If you look at the heads, is yours like the one on the left or the right? Does yours have the point at the top or is it flat on the top?

My vivi nova's are vision vivi nova's. The vivi nova box even says vision vivi nova on them. I really doubt smoketech is gonna go so far as to completely steal their box while saying vision on it as well.

I have a bunch of vivi novas from the same vendor that have all came in the same boxes. Mini's. 3.5's from 2012 b4 they usto write vivi nova on the plastic tube part, etc. They have always used the flat heads. Each vivi in a box comes with 3 heads including the 1 already on.

Now I have a bunch of stardusts too. & they have the tip head. Both heads can screw into either tank (never tried 1 on the other to see if it works tho). What are you trying to get at?

^ my exact site, my exact most recent vivi's, they are real vivi's.... and they come with flat heads

Actually Smok DID steal the box design too. Here is an image of a Smoktech Vivi Nova kit. Complete with 3 heads (one pre-assembled) all just like the Vision brand. You can tell this is the Smok version solely by the pointed head. I apologize if I have offended you but this is what happens when a product and it's packaging are copied so completely.

Now then since you mentioned that you have the flat head that means that you do in fact have the Vision version. So lets see if we can help. When you say they have "too-high of a reading for their ohms" how much too high? What is the reading you are getting and what is the head rated for? A small bit too high is common until they are used for a bit. A LOT too high could mean there is some other problem. I have only ever heard of a problem with the center pole not touching with the Smoke version though.

I agree, but where is this pin you're talking about?

On second look maybe there isn't a pin... I was in APV Discussion with my issue and someone brought up the pin inside the head as the probable issue, so I looked an maybe it was my eyes playing tricks I thought I saw a pin too lol.

So I guess that person is off. So disregard the pin talk, lol.

My issue is I got 2 new Vivi kits and it seems some of the coils along with them, mainly the 2.4 ohm in each is giving a really wonky ohm reading. But all my other tanks are working fine. I was wondering if it was possibly my SVD, or if it was just the coils.. I've never really received a bad vivi coil b4, let alone a couple, but this is the first week I've had a mod to actually test the ohm levels..

So I was wondering still, if there was a way to adjust something in it to see if it'll work or if it's just a dud. I'm still going to try to use the coils in my ego c twist... but def. won't try them in my mod unless they start reading right.

Those Vivi Nova heads from Canvape have very short wicks. From memory when I bought Vision Vivi Novas last fall the wicks were very long. I've rebuilt mine since September so maybe Vision changed the wicks to super short tilt and swirls?

I think these Vivis at Canvape are knockoffs. $5.95 for the 3.5 ml with 3 heads?....another sign....too cheap

They may be good clearos, they are not Vision vivis.
