Vivi nova e-liquid discolouration (black)

Every time I put e-liquid into my mini nova, it seems to gradually turn black starting from the bottom upwards, is this ok? It dosen't taste too good either when this happens. 1.8 ohm atty on a ego battery.

once the liquid gets sludgy, dump it out. otherwise its going to taste horrible and gunk up your coil quicker. i clean my novas anywhere between 3 and 10mls, depending on the juice.

I noticed the same thing on mine. Freshly cleaned tank and after 1 1/2 ml's in my 3.5 Viva nova it is turning dark already. Haven't had it turn to "sludge" yet but it is trying to get there. My flavor stays the same though.

I normally find that I need to clean my nova around once a week with energy cow juice. I've got a spare so keep alternating. After a week it does tend to get very dark. Small price to pay for a class product though.

maybe its the heat, causing the juice to carmelize. i notice that my juices change color more times than it stays the same. the difference being that most of my juice is behind a metal wall rather than a clear one. the difference is not that my juices is turning dark, the difference is that im SEEING the juice turn dark.

if youve got attys or cartos, try blowing some of the jucie out. you may notice that its been turning dark the whole time. or not. YMMV. vape on.

Mine did the same thing, it turned it a darker hue, even when I cleaned it and put new coils and everything in. Someone had described it to me indepth at one point why this was. I think it has something to do with how it holds the liquid, heats it, and it can return the non-vapped liquid to the rest of the tank. I never noticed any difference in taste but it looked different over time.

With top-wicked clearomizers, the act of wetting the wicks (long or short) will feed some of the solid or heavier materials left at the coil back into the tank.

I use short wicks, and I've often observed dark rings near the end of them when I pick it up in the morning. As soon as I wet the wicks, it washes back into the tank. Check it out sometime.

When you vaporize the liquid, there are solids that form on the coil, and usually some particulate that remains in the wick at the coil. With PG and VG being solvents, they will naturally loosen that stuff up and carry it away.

I dump the sludgy stuff after refilling twice, most of the time. Darker liquids will probably make it worse.

The upside is that the wick and coil are somewhat self-cleaning, and tend to last longer because of this.
